I've got good news to share and even better news after that. The good news first... In the past month, my posts about the cost of a cup of coffee, remote work savings, and my "why" behind fundraising for the Chicago Marathon have resulted in $630 of donations to benefit those impacted by Childhood Trauma. I'm so appreciative for your support! Here's the even better news... Because of this surge in donations over this time period, the team at Advocate Health Care has graciously extended my fundraising deadline to Oct. 1, to allow me to try and hit my goal of $1750. I truly appreciate their generosity, too. Now I have two weeks to make a final push to hit my goal. I'm sitting at $1155 at the time of this post and need $595 to cross the fundraising finish line. Here's how you can help... Shout out to Anna who opened up to me on our 1:1 nonprofit consultation call yesterday about how much HAC nonprofit has struggled with donor loss and grant withdrawals. Despite caring for over 125 kids who desperately need to find foster homes, get medical treatment, and educational opportunities, the nonprofit has struggled with almost shutting down this year. "Frustration & exhaustion are the least of my concerns," Anna says. "It is failing these kids that scare me the most. They need me. They need us and I am scared that despite my best efforts, I am failing them just as America has already failed them. So JB, I'm doing this scared, because the only option is giving up without a fight and I cannot do that." Do you know how insanely inspiring this is?
