He delivered an impactful keynote on "𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒃𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 (𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒊𝒔𝒌𝒔) 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒄 𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏-𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔." 💡 Professor Sibony highlighted a crucial paradox in his talk and a follow-up interview: while we tend to believe human judgment should always have the final say, the very reason we use AI is that it can surpass human capabilities in certain situations. 📣 𝗛𝗲 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁 𝗮 𝘁𝘄𝗼-𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗔𝗜: - Rigorously validate any AI model to ensure its average decision-making performance exceeds human capabilities. - Recognize that disagreeing with the AI model should only occur in rare instances where we possess unique information the model lacks. Trust in AI Tumbles: A Wake-Up Call for Leaders Trust in AI has taken a nosedive globally, according to a recent study. What does this mean for the future of AI and how can leaders address the concerns? 🤖👀 #AI #TrustInAI" The findings are in, and they're alarming: trust in AI has taken a significant hit worldwide. A recent study revealed a 26-point gap between high trust in the overall tech industry (76%) and much lower trust in AI specifically (50%). In the U.S., trust in AI plummeted by 15 points, while global numbers fell 8 points. As business leaders, we must take note of this stark drop in trust and address the concerns that are driving it. The study shows that concerns center on privacy, devaluing humanity, societal harm, and lack of regulation - not job displacement, as often assumed. This wake-up call demands that we, as leaders in the AI industry, take a step back and reflect on how we can regain the trust of the public. We must acknowledge the concerns and work to alleviate them. It's time to have open and honest conversations about the ethical implications of AI and how we can ensure it benefits society as a whole. At the same time, it's crucial that we continue to educate the public about the benefits of AI and its potential to drive positive change. We must work together to create a future where AI enhances human life, rather than devaluing it. The writing is on the wall: the future of AI depends on our ability to address these concerns and rebuild trust. 📘 Reflecting on 'Co-Intelligence: Living and Working with AI' Recently, I had the pleasure of delving into Professor Ethan Mollick's insightful book, which challenges us to rethink our relationship with AI. As we stand on the brink of technological transformation, this book serves as a vital guide to navigate our future interactions with AI—not as competitors but as collaborators. One of the most compelling aspects of this book is its forward-thinking approach to Human-AI collaboration. It offers a visionary template for a future where AI enhances our capabilities rather than competes with them. This requires a profound shift in mindset, and Mollick's articulate arguments facilitate this essential change. Here are four pivotal rules of co-intelligence that resonated with me: 🤝 Always Invite AI to the Table: Embrace AI as a partner in all tasks. 🤔 The Power of Metaphors in Shaping AI’s Future 💭 What are your thoughts? 🤔 I was intrigued by a Charter article this morning by Allison F. Avery (she/her) and Nicolas Maitret at SYPartners. I have always appreciated the power of apt metaphors, and a study from 2011 demonstrated something many of us know: metaphors significantly influence our perceptions and solutions to problems. Metaphors play a crucial role in shaping how we understand, interact with, and guide the development of AI technologies. Leaders frequently employ metaphors to demystify AI, ranging from AI as a ‘tool’ to ‘assistant’, ‘partner’, and even ‘master’. Each metaphor carries implications for how we perceive the control dynamic between humans and AI and the appropriate responses to AI’s capabilities and risks. Interesting article AI performs very well compared to Human CEO in the scenarios outlined and is quite focused on short term optimisations but does not deal well with unplanned change. Like most AI cases, it is a good companion to human decision making, allowing to look at complex data sets and therefore help in making better decisions

The simulation was a coarse-grained #digitaltwin of the U.S. #automotive industry, incorporating mathematical models based on real data of car sales, market shifts, historical pricing strategies and elasticity, as well as broader influences like economic trends and the effects of Covid-19.
