I have learned that It’s easy to get caught up in what’s not working. How instresting it would get if we shift our focus. Instead of dwelling on the challenges, let’s celebrate our wins for the year, no matter how small. Every step forward, every lesson learned, every positive interaction, these are the building blocks of success. We are generally terrible at celebrating our own wins. Then, we wonder why we burn out and struggle to understand whether we're achieving results. Set a milestone, achieve it, and celebrate it with a reward. Be proud of what you've accomplished, and put in the effort to showcase what you've done. Rinse, repeat, and do it again. The wins deserve their moment too! When we review our work, it’s easy to fixate on what didn’t go right. We dissect the missteps, the missed opportunities, and what we could have done better … skipping over the 90% that went well. At times, this focus comes at the detriment of keeping momentum alive. Let’s give our successes just as much attention. By unpacking our wins, we understand what worked and why. We get to replicate that success and build on it. Acknowledge the losses to avoid them, while recognizing the wins to repeat them.
