To continue our September highlight of the Leader Touchstone—Gratitude, we're throwing back to an updated article from Leader-First Insights! Take a sneak peek: "I often hear the phrase, “Have an attitude of Gratitude.” However, a grateful attitude does not go far enough to evoke Gratitude’s positive neurological and physiological effects. Gratitude is an action, not a mindset." More rumination on Presence; a word so prevalent in leadership trainings, books, articles and on social media. Most discussions make Presence seem like a quality that one possesses, like charisma, warmth, power, rigor, astuteness, personality, etc. Something to be developed to enhance a person’s performance. This is like saying the ocean is a quality that can be developed to enhance the performance of a wave. I myself confess to teaching it that way in corporate leadership trainings, in an effort to squeeze a vast force into manageable digestible portions. This because the world of business is not particularly welcoming to the language of spirit, soul or “Source” energy. #Leadership #presence #theatre #TaiChi #meditation #work #life #business

As leaders, it can be common to feel the need to be perfect. However, striving for perfection could prevent deeper learning, natural growth, and authentic connections. This article shares insight into the difference between ‘perfectionism’ and ‘healthy striving:’ - Perfectionism is externally driven — focused on what others think. It’s a mindset of, "What will others think and say?" - Healthy striving is internally driven — about being your best for yourself and your team. It focuses on growth, instead of preventing judgment. https://ow.ly/1e6A30sGMBE #Leadership #ProfessionalDevelopment #BusinessTip
