Besides this being an amazing story; one that deserved its own post, there was talk of (at least) five other projects that will tell the story of rural perseverance and community excellence in Humboldt. And I have nowhere to tell these stories. What will it take for people to invest in rural content again? Because that is what it is; an investment of time and resources into ensuring these stories get told. I've heard over and over again in the past two years that there's no money for freelancing, but how else are organizations creating a strong news stream for their communities? We need more local content.

Let me share why their mission is so crucial: *They deliver nutritious meals to seniors and homebound individuals, combating isolation and malnutrition. *Their service extends beyond humans - they also provide pet food, ensuring beloved companions are cared for too. *Volunteers offer vital social connection, often being the only human contact some recipients have all day.
