🔍 Exciting News in Education Choice! ExcelinEd has just launched an incredible new resource called "School Choice Matters" - a comprehensive online tool that maps out educational choice policies across all 50 states. Key Features of this Game-Changing Resource: • Detailed analysis of 40 different school choice policies • Interactive state-by-state comparisons • Deep dives into four core areas: Open Enrollment Charter Schools Private School Choice Homeschooling This launch comes on the heels of the inspiring ExcelinEd National Summit in Oklahoma City, where education leaders gathered to discuss how "Policy Changes Lives." The timing couldn't be better as organizations like ACE Scholarships continue working on the ground to transform these policies into real opportunities for families. 💡 Why This Matters: • Parents understand that one-size-fits-all education doesn't work • Every state has different approaches to school choice • Policymakers need clear data to make informed decisions • Families deserve access to educational options that fit their needs The tool helps bridge the gap between policy and practice, showing exactly how states can expand educational opportunities - the same mission that drives ACE Scholarships' work in providing K-12 scholarships to children from low-income families. Want to explore educational options in your state? Visit excelined.org to access this powerful new resource! #EducationChoice #SchoolChoice #EdPolicy #StudentSuccess #EducationEquity

🌟Our Next Speaker Spotlight 🌟 Chrissy Franz, Chief Literacy Officer at Adelante Schools, will join us on January 15 to talk about how their team has harnessed reading data at every level of the organization. Why are we so off-the-charts excited? 📚 In 2023-2024, Adelante’s third graders set a new school record: 72% passed IREAD-3, Indiana’s statewide reading proficiency exam. This reflected a nearly 20-percentage-point gain since we started our work together. 📈 That same year, 83% of Kindergarteners met the end-of-year proficiency benchmark on DIBELS, up from just 10% at the start of the year. These results didn't happen by chance. And Chrissy was a key leader in their effort. (Also—can we take a moment to appreciate her title? 👏 ) Join us to hear Chrissy share more about one element that helped drive change: an intentional approach to analyzing data for action. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ezS5y68n

For over a decade, being a special education teacher, enduring the challenges of being in the classroom, acting as a case manager, and fulfilling the role of a teacher while navigating the diverse needs of each child has been quite a journey. What anchored me throughout was the deep-seated conviction that this was my calling. Now, I'm transitioning towards focusing more on adult learning, a shift that feels timely and purposeful. My current endeavor, "Survival of the Fittest for Special Education Teachers," aims to empower educators in this field to endure and excel. This shift in focus stems from recognizing the pressing need for special education teachers. Many are departing the profession due to factors like burnout, frustration, and feeling overwhelmed by the demands of teaching. I aim to leverage my experiences to impact teachers' lives meaningfully.
