We hope everyone has had a great week enjoying the holidays. A quick reminder to come out to our last event of the year and help C3 reach our fundraising goals! 👯 We'll be dancing with lively and experienced instructor Susan Mcculley TOMORROW at 3 pm while reflecting on the importance of caring for the planet we call home. Before beginning the class, there will be opportunities to connect and plug into action with C3! The class will be a low-pressure environment where experience is unnecessary and accessible to everyone. Visit the link to learn more about the class, and register to join us! We hope to see you in class! https://ow.ly/KhRL50UxixL

Something else I've learned in more than 20 years as a professional fundraiser: A “no” is very rarely a “no” forever. It’s a “no” to the timing. It’s a “no” to the project. It’s a “no” to the amount. Find out the reason for the “no”. Adjust your sights based upon the feedback and move forward in a way that aligns with the donor’s wishes. It's then that you'll find yourself on the brink of a “yes”.

I, I, I, We, I, us, I, I, I. I started counting the I’s, We’s, and Us’s in a recent direct mail appeal from a relief org to see how many times they talked about themselves. This was just the first two paragraphs. How many times did they use ‘you’ or ‘your?’ Two. Two times addressing the donor's point of view while talking about themselves 9 times. This is an easy test with your copy & one of the quickest ways to improve your fundraising. You can make a big difference in the life of a child. You can ensure a hungry child goes to bed with food in her belly. You can provide an education for only $15 a month. You is a powerful word we should use more often as fundraisers.
