#RaiseAgainstAutism #PinnacleSaysItAll #PinnacleBloomsNetwork #1AutismTherapyCentresNetwork Today's collaboration Topic: 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗦upport program: The Individualized Family Service Plan — the “IFSP” — is the heart of early intervention. A written plan, called an IFSP, is developed by a team to record the family’s outcomes for themselves and their child. It lists the early intervention services that will best help reach those outcomes and describes when, where, and how those services will be delivered. It will be a map to guide you and the professionals working with you. The IFSP should be the result of cooperative planning between you and the team of other people who are learning about your child. You will work together with professionals to find what you need to help your family reach your goals. The purpose of the IFSP meeting is to talk about, as a team, all important information, concerns, and resources. Your child’s evaluation and assessment results will be discussed as well as the results of the family needs assessment. Other topics will include outcomes for your child and family, what services are needed, and how the services will be provided. The IFSP team will talk about your child’s strengths and needs. What are the concerns? What is your child’s present level of development? You will share your ideas with the team. The people at the meeting will also talk about what your child can do. These are his or her strengths. Be sure to tell them what you think your child does well.

The EU Commission recently released recommendations to better protect children from violence across it’s member states. Detailed findings from the EU Children's Participation Platform involving children aged 7-17 across 21 countries are now available at https://lnkd.in/eyQdmDFp. One key insight reveals children's desire for better education on potential risks, dangers, and available support. Key takeaways from the study include children's expectations from adults: - Listening attentively and respectfully - Involving children in decision-making processes - Providing essential information on risks, support channels, and reporting unsafe situations - Ensuring timely help, clear rules, and access to specialized support - Fostering collaboration among adults to create a protective environment and address children's problems effectively. As educational leaders, prioritizing safety information delivery and advocating for students' mental health and well-being aligns with children's needs for support, understanding, and active participation in solutions- it's vital that we continue to prioritise this facet of the student journey at all levels #ChildProtection #YouthEmpowerment #EducationForAll

For German-speaking parents of children aged 6-12. Many of you deal with the challenges of excessive media use in children. Preventing this is tough without involving parents, who are often hard to reach or overwhelmed by online advice. We’ve partnered with Universitätsklinikum Tübingen to support parents in Luxembourg with a convenient online solution. Led by Dr. Dipl.-Psych. Isabel Brandhorst and funded by Land Baden-Württemberg, the ISES! Kids Online Training (Internet Addiction: Empowering Parents!) has been developed for German-speaking parents of children aged 6-12. This training helps parents: model good behavior, set media rules, and communicate effectively with their kids. Watch this video for more details: → https://lnkd.in/eqVxmywa The training is available until the end of July 2024 as part of a study. Participants need to complete a short ANONYMOUS questionnaire three times. This will help us decide on a broader rollout in Luxembourg. Learn more here: ISES! Kids Online Training → https://lnkd.in/eGEwScWU Please share this information with parents. For questions contact us at info@zev.lu or the Tübingen team at ises@med.uni-tuebingen.de. __ #medialiteracy #mentalhealth #digital #children #parents

Bettina Love was the first person I remember reading who talked (specifically) about reducing harm in education. She and I talk and write about education in different ways, from different perspectives, but are, I think, quite aligned in observing the close connections between education, incarceration, and how educational trauma is one of the ties that bind them together. I decided to apply the existing principles of harm reduction to education, and this article is my first entrance into that work. #HarmReduction #EducationalTrauma #TraumaResponsiveEducation #HigherEdInPrison #CorrectionsEducation #TeachingInPrison #TraumaInformedEducation #HarmReductionInEducation #BettinaLove https://lnkd.in/gmR3kHZ4

School attendance is vital for reasons that go far beyond academic achievement. Young people who are persistently absent from school face increased risks of being drawn into criminal activities. Research shows that those frequently missing school are more than three times as likely to commit offenses by the age of 17. School staff also play a key role in identifying mental health needs, signs of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. When children are absent, these warning signs can go unnoticed, putting them at greater risk. Absence hits the most vulnerable children and young people the hardest, with the rate of severe absence 3.4 times higher for pupils eligible for free school meals, and 20% of severely absent pupils being in receipt of SEN support. Schools provide both physical and emotional safety, so we must strive to get children and young people back into settings so that they have the support and tools to thrive. Thrive Licensed Practitioner training can give you the skills to spot where pupils need extra support and provides you with the tools to make a real difference. Ready to make an impact?
