Doing the "actual" work of supplier inclusion means more than just 'speaking' on panels or sharing what we're doing—it’s about rolling up our sleeves and getting involved in every step of the process It’s about mentoring suppliers 1-on-1, matching them with the right connections, and advocating for them every step of the way. It’s about working closely with procurement teams to align opportunities and build robust pipelines that create tangible impact because to 'diversify a supply chain means to de-risk a supply chain'. Most importantly, it’s about being transparent about where the real value lies and ensuring suppliers understand how to navigate complex landscapes. I'm excited to partner with Aramark Avendra International and Diversity Masterminds® on a 10-week development program. Together, we’ll help select diverse suppliers tackle the complexities of foodservice and distribution. Looking forward to the journey! #SupplierInclusion #LevelUp Sysco #SupplierDiversity #Mentorship #Partnership #Procurement #Foodservice #DEI Natily Santos, MBA Jonathan Mason Heather Cox 🎗️Mercedes Rodriguez

It’s Great British Bakeoff time 😀 If you have a “soggy bottom” in your organisation, it’s time to focus on culture and climate. #CIPDPMAs24 #GBBO #OrganisationalDevelopment #SCARF Syena Skinner FCIPD Charlotte Dahl Jo Moffatt Ryan Kemp Alegna Consultancy Ltd I for one will be glued to the screen on Tuesday 24th September for commencement of the new series of Great British Bakeoff. The ubiquitous “soggy bottom” got me thinking about organisational culture – the core basic that is not easy to define but underpins 'how it feels around here'. Perhaps you’re more of a Masterchef fan? I particularly enjoy the skills test where professional chefs are put through their paces on the basics, for example rustling up a hollandaise sauce with poached eggs. Of course, this is whilst under the close observation of M&M (the judges Marcus and Monica) plus a camera crew – not for me thanks. Chefs buckle under pressure, missing the basics, sometimes with comical results. It’s no laughing matter when we skip the basics in our organisations. Poor organisational culture – here are some of the red flags: ⚙ High turnover ⚙ Poor staff engagement ⚙ Worrying levels of absenteeism ⚙ Values are espoused but rarely enacted, it’s just talk Creating and maintaining a culture in which everyone can thrive is always worth the investment. At the CIPD Management Awards on 19th September #CIPDPMAs24 I sat proudly with colleagues who were shortlisted for our organisational development initiative. It was wonderful to see the number of organizations truly committed to getting the basics right. Organisational culture is all around and when we get it right, everyone wins. Focus on the basics Soggy bottoms are entirely avoidable. Let’s get the basics right: Focus on the basics Soggy bottoms are entirely avoidable. Let’s get the basics right: • Be clear on the desired culture and behaviours – define it, bring it to life with examples and ensure it is understood and modelled at all levels of the organisation • Keep tasting/testing – culture is ever evolving; this is not a quick fix task. Be courageous, ask questions and take action to make change • Celebrate success - tell everyone about it, fly the flag high, inspire others What are your top tips? Have you got an organisational showstopper? Tell me about it.

# foodforthought Promotions due to loyalty above competence can be detrimental to an organisation's growth and future delvelopment. To assume longevity equates to increased capability and successful mentorship to employees can lead to operational inefficiencies, and poor performance at all levels. Competent staff leave due to being supervised and answerable to incompetent managers and you stuck in an ever decreasing circle. ##foodforthought

I walked away from my 6-figure executive job 4 years ago. Truth is, I accidentally started building my own business with a different approach: I had no interest in changing the industry, building the biggest company, winning awards, or being labeled a 'thought leader'. Instead, I wanted to help people, spend more time with my family, support the restaurant industry, hang with my friends more often, and stop doing things that made me unhappy. It’s crazy to think, that some of the first list actually happened anyway. And all of the second did. Plus I get to speak to and work with restaurateurs all over the world, supporting them as the try to navigate the new normal of restaurants. Because the model isn’t as easy as it used to be. And there are ways to make it more simple, in an industry that continues to become more complex by the day. So if you’re a restaurateur, let’s connect. Find me at Jim Taylor or follow the link. https://lnkd.in/gsHY3SkZ 👊🏻 Ps. If you enjoyed this, share the post with your network and follow me Jim Taylor for daily content. I also write a short email to 20000+ people every week on restaurant business models and other helpful tips. What to do when poor performance is not a justifiable reason for dismissal? This blog post from Maria Sisci, Nordic Project Manager at Nestlé Nespresso SA, discusses what if you can't take the usual steps to dealing with them in a company? These individuals not only represent a direct financial cost to the company with no output to speak of, but also cast a shadow of demotivation over high performers. After all, why go the extra mile if there are no consequences for slacking off? What if you live in a country with strong labor laws and even stronger labor unions where poor performance is not a justifiable reason for dismissal? Assuming you’re the unlucky manager in question, Maria presents three potential elixirs for this corporate migraine. 👇 https://lnkd.in/ePqkz4mW

🚀 Major Executive Changes in the Grocery Industry 🌟 The grocery industry has been buzzing with a wave of significant leadership changes recently, signalling a period of transformation and fresh strategies. Over the past month, a series of high-profile appointments and resignations have reshaped the C-suite landscape in some of the sector's most influential companies. Quorn Foods, a prominent name in plant-based foods, has bid farewell to CEO Marco Bertacca. Stepping into his shoes is David Flochel, former Heineken UK managing director, who promises 2025 as a "reset year" after Marlow Foods reported a £63m loss. Flochel's arrival heralds a new chapter, aiming to rejuvenate the brand with a renewed focus and strategic execution. Meanwhile, Westfalia Fruit Group has welcomed Chris Bush, former Tesco UK boss, as its new group CEO. Replacing acting CEO Rian du Toit, Bush's appointment comes after being exonerated from the Tesco accounting scandal. With his wealth of experience and a dedication to innovation, Bush is poised to drive forward Westfalia's commitment to quality and sustainability. These executive shifts are just the tip of the iceberg. With Rafael Oliveira taking the helm at JDE Peet's and Andrew Carter stepping down from Chapel Down, it's clear the industry is in for an exciting ride. As these seasoned professionals bring fresh perspectives and bold strategies, the grocery market is set for dynamic changes ahead. 🌟 #GroceryIndustry #LeadershipChanges #BusinessTransformation
