Where should I (try to) publish my manuscript?
As an intensivist and researcher, this is a frequent question...Not only a question I pose myself but also a question I often get from students and colleagues.
Trying to answer it, the most important things to be considered are:
1- A journal with credibility that may provide visibility to my results
2-A fair (and fast) peer review (nothing worse than waiting months, not improving the manuscript, and getting biased and non-productive reviews)
3- No fees (I don't want to spend my research budget to pay 3000USD or more to get a paper published)
4-Open to all fields of intensive care, no biases on the origin of the paper (great studies being done in countries all over the world...biases do not help us advance the science internationally)
5-Open access for readers (Yes, we want people to have easy access to information, so they can use it to improve outcomes!)
So, I will give you my (very biased!) answer:
Critical Care Science (https://lnkd.in/evNUZ6_3)
It is a journal that has all the above-mentioned characteristics and more...a diverse, high-quality, international editorial board and is the official journal of 2 leading critical care societies...
So, Just send your manuscripts!
