Proper watering of chicks in the first days is critically important for their health and future productivity. Here are a few key rules: 1. Immediate access to water 💧: After moving the chicks into the poultry house, it is essential to provide them with immediate access to clean water. 2. Water temperature🌡: The water should be at room temperature (20-22°C). 3. Antibiotic addition💊: During the first 3 days, it is advisable to add antibiotics to the water if you observe sleepiness, lethargy, poorly closed navels, or other signs of weakness. This will help reduce the risk of colibacillosis in the future. 4. Monitor water pressure in the drinking lines: For the first days of life, the optimal water pressure is 0.9 bar. 5. Correct drinker height: The drinkers should be at the chicks' eye level, making it easy for them to drink while preventing spills. As the chicks grow, raise the drinkers daily. Without proper water access, a chick can lose up to 10-15% of its body weight due to dehydration within the first 48 hours. Following these simple steps ensures that your chicks receive the necessary care in the critical early days of life, laying the foundation for their future health and growth. #poultryfarming #watermanagement #broilers #chickhealth #efficientproduction

Flies are a big danger to foodservice venues. Left alone, they can quickly spread diseases, as they switch between contaminated sources (like rotting food and faeces) and clean kitchen areas. Yuck! This is why effective #PestControl is a must. One option we offer is the Moel adhesive board. Ideal for food prep areas as there's no risk of scattering body parts. https://hubs.la/Q02wNSj90 #FlyKillers #AdhesiveBoard

As the PBFA community prepares to gather for our first ever PBFA-wide D.C. Lobby Day, we want to take a moment and look at the bigger picture, diving into why policy that supports plant-based foods is so important, and what we as a community have been doing to help achieve this vision. 🏛️✨ 💡 Our policy work includes defending plant-based companies’ right to use common sense labeling terms, ensuring federal dietary guidelines accurately represent the many benefits of plant-based eating, and meeting with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to educate them about the health, sustainability, and economic benefits that plant-based foods have to offer. Overall, we prioritize fighting for policies that move the needle for plant-based foods. We hope you'll join us. 🌱 Learn more about what policies we support and why on The Digest: https://buff.ly/3VhvpRk
