THE PINK MONTH October is a month also known as the pink month in the health sector. Why? To coincide with National Cancer Awareness Week (third week of October). The "Pink Month" aims to: educate people about breast cancer risks, symptoms, and screening, promote early detection and treatment, support research and funding and honor survivors, families, and loved ones affected. Breast cancer is when breast cells mutate and become cancerous cells that multiply and form tumors. Breast cancer typically affects women (and people assigned female at birth age) 50 years and older, but it can also affect men and people assigned male at birth (AMAB), as well as younger women.
