Day 71 of #100daysofcybersecuritychallenges: How it works: Malicious code: Hackers embed malicious code into a legitimate website. Exploit kit: This code often uses exploit kits to identify vulnerabilities in the user's system. Silent download: Once a vulnerability is found, the malicious software is downloaded and installed without any user interaction. Dangers of drive-by attacks: Data theft: Malicious software can steal personal information, financial data, and passwords. System damage: It can corrupt files, slow down performance, or even render the device unusable. Botnet creation: Infected devices can be turned into part of a botnet for malicious activities. Protection against drive-by attacks: Keep software updated: Ensure your operating system and applications are up-to-date with the latest security patches. Use antivirus software: A reliable antivirus program can help detect and prevent malicious software. Be cautious of websites: Avoid visiting suspicious websites or clicking on unknown links. Firewall: A firewall can help protect your system from external threats. #network #cybersecurity #ComputerNetwork #100daysofcybersecurity #100daysofselflearning #ethical #hacking #networkingbasics #staysecure

CYBER SECURITY TIPS Here are the simplest, most basic cyber security tips: 1. *Use strong passwords*: Mix letters, numbers, and symbols. Make them hard to guess. 2. *Keep software up-to-date*: Regularly update your operating system, browser, and apps. 3. *Be careful with links and attachments*: Don't click on suspicious links or open unknown attachments. 4. *Use antivirus software*: Install and update antivirus software to protect against malware. 5. *Back up your data*: Regularly save important files to a secure location. Remember: Cyber security is like locking your doors and windows. Take these simple steps to protect yourself online! (And if you want to remember just one thing: *Use strong passwords*. It's the most important step to prevent unauthorized access to your online accounts and personal information.) In the coming days I will give you a breakdown of these five basic steps. #cybersecurity

Fact Friday! Most software you use has known vulnerabilities, referred to as CVEs. These are vulnerabilities that the software manufacturer never patched. While creating software, most companies use Dev/Ops and scan their products with tools like Tenable, which identifies vulnerabilities in Critical, High, Medium, and Low levels. Most companies tend to fix the Critical and High vulnerabilities and release software with Medium and Low vulnerabilities due to time constraints, but these vulnerabilities still exist. It's important to note that the WannaCry attack exploited a Medium vulnerability. Cyber awareness, VPN, firewall, and antivirus software are crucial, as you are often prone to cyber-attacks. Now you know! #cybersnap #factfridays #nowyouknow #facts
