New Fortress Energy (NFE) expects an increase in demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Brazil in the coming years, driven by the industrial and thermoelectric sectors. “Part of this demand will be supplied by NFE, which will have projects totaling 2.2GW of capacity, with operations expected to begin in the next two years,” the company told BNamericas through its press office. NFE has LNG terminals in Barcarena, Pará state, and in São Francisco do Sul, Santa Catarina state, in both cases with the capacity to regasify 15Mm3/d. #energy #thermoelectric #lng #gas #liquefaction https://lnkd.in/dzPm2n_X.

Cheniere Energy, Inc. announced that it had agreed to supply 800K metric tons/year of liquefied natural gas to Germany's BASF through 2043. The deal is part of a larger expansion plan for Cheniere, as the company has entered into supply deals with Norway's Equinor, KOREA SOUTHERN POWER CO., LTD. and China's ENN Natural Gas Co., Ltd., all in the last year. Natural gas and LNG have emerged as vital components on the modern energy mix, offering an affordable and stable source of energy with far less emissions than oil and coal. GL Group Acquires 25% Stake in #Turkish #Natural_Gas Project. GL Group, Azerbaijan’s first privately-owned energy conglomerate, has made its initial international move by acquiring a 25% stake in Gazelle Energy Limited, a Canadian company operating the Thrace Basin Block F17-b4 in Türkiye. This strategic acquisition aligns with GL Group’s goal of becoming a key mid-sized energy player in the region. The Thrace Basin Block covers 145 km² and boasts proven gas reserves of 65 Bcf, with substantial potential for growth.
