***The farm is the fundamental building block for implementing regenerative agriculture*** At this foundational level, sustainable practices are put into action, directly impacting soil health, water conservation, biodiversity, and overall ecosystem resilience. By focusing on regenerative practices at the farm level, food and beverage companies can drive positive environmental change throughout their supply chains. This grassroots approach not only fosters greater sustainability but also promotes long-term resilience in agricultural systems, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable and resilient food future. Our commitment to natural chemistry is reflected in our ongoing focus on sustainability and environmental well-being. On #WorldSoilDay, we celebrate the dedication of the Vantage teams responsible for our jojoba farms in the U.S. and Argentina. Their dedication to sustainable farming practices that conserve water, promote biodiversity, and minimize our farm's carbon footprint ensures that our healthy soil produces high-quality jojoba solutions for our personal care business. This year's theme, "Measure, Monitor, Manage," highlights the critical importance of sustainable soil management. We're proud that our responsible farming practices have earned us industry-wide certifications including the first Fair for Life Fair Trade Certified farming operation in the United States for our El Niño farm in Arizona. Regenerative Agriculture is a holistic approach that aims to rebuild soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience. Why Raised beds? (a) Reduce waterlogging, (b) Provide a deeper seedbed and rooting depth, (c) Provide better drainage from the root zone which may reduce salinity in the root zone, (d) Result in minimal compaction from traffic, (e) Designed to provide safe and legal disposal of excess water, (f) Improve efficiency of farming operations. On the raised beds, a carpet of mulch helps retain moisture, suppress weeds, and gradually enriches the soil with organic matter as it decomposes. These practices not only enhance yields but also sequester carbon, mitigate climate change, and promote a thriving ecosystem that supports a diversity of life. By embracing such sustainable methods, smallholder farmers are paving the way for a more resilient and bountiful future, one that harmonizes food production with environmental stewardship. 🌱🌳🌍 #agroecology #ClimateSmartAgriculture #LetLakeVictoriaBreatheAgain
