All over the world, people's sexual and reproductive rights remain legally and socially limited. According to a data by Amnesty International: 🟣 23 European countries require transgender people to be sterilised 🟣 76 countries criminalise consensual sexual acts by adults of the same sex 🟣 47,000 pregnant women die every year from unsafe abortions 🟣 14 million+ teenage girls give birth per year, mainly a result of rape & unwanted pregnancy To create change and reach #Goal2035, we need help each other be better advocates. To support this work, we have developed The #MyBodyMyMind Toolkit, which covers sexual and reproductive health, rights and mental health. Read the toolkit: https://lnkd.in/dybuQHv

The US elections reminded us that menstrual and sexual health are political 🩸. With the shifting landscape around reproductive rights, body autonomy has never felt more critical. This is why I’m so passionate about female body literacy. Body autonomy starts with body literacy — understanding your menstrual cycle, knowing when you are fertile, and charting your biomarkers. When you track your cycle and ovulation, you're reclaiming control over your body and health. 🌟 Although most people don't know this, menstruators are only fertile for about 7 days each cycle. ⏳ In uncertain times, tracking ovulation and understanding your body is an act of resistance. I strongly believe that with the current political landscape, body literacy is the first step in protecting our reproductive rights and making informed choices for our health and future. This knowledge is powerful, and it’s ours, no matter what. 💥 -- ✨ Hi, I’m Sheila! 👋 I write about menstrual health, fertility awareness, and human rights. 💡 I’m committed to building a community where we have open conversations about periods, contraception, and sexual education! 🩸 ➕ Follow me for content like this. 💬 ♻️ Repost to bring your network into this important conversation. 📲 #MenstrualHealth #HumanRights #ReproductiveRights #BodyLiteracy #FertilityAwareness #Empowerment

🌍 Since the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), the world has made remarkable strides in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), but even today, millions of women and girls struggle to realise their sexual and reproductive rights. 📑The State of the World Population Report 2024 by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) reveals that: 💊 Nearly 1 in 10 women have no choice in using contraception. 📍1 in 4 women cannot say no to sex with their husband or partner. 🏥 In 69 countries, 1 in 4 women still cannot make their own healthcare decisions. ✊At the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), we work to ensure that women in all their diversities are free to make choices about their sexuality and well-being. As we observe #WorldPopulationDay, we reaffirm our commitment to advocating for sexual and reproductive health and rights for all. ✨ #WorldPopulationDay #ReproductiveRights #SexualRights #SRHR #SRHR4All #SRHRJ

🚨 The Reproductive Rights Crisis Impacting Women of Color 🚨 Join us on the latest episode of the RISE Urban Nation Podcast as we take a deep dive into “The Reproductive Rights Crisis for Women of Color.” Our guest sheds light on the profound challenges faced by women of color following the SCOTUS Dobbs decision, highlighting the devastating impacts on access to reproductive and prenatal care. 🤰 In states like Alabama, two-thirds of the region lacks adequate access to prenatal and birthing services, forcing women to travel extensive distances for care. This scarcity is compounded by restrictive laws and high rates of maternal mortality, illustrating a crisis that extends far beyond the issue of abortion. 🔗 This episode is a critical exploration of how these issues interconnect and the disproportionate effect on communities of color. 💬 We invite you to engage with this vital topic: How do you think communities and policymakers can address these disparities in reproductive health services? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments. 👍 Like, comment, and share this post to raise awareness about this urgent issue. Listen to the full discussion on our podcast to get a comprehensive understanding of the stakes involved. #ReproductiveRights #WomenOfColor #HealthcareDisparity #RISEUrbanNation
