If I had to choose only one skill for a leader to learn in order to make the biggest impact, I'd choose navigating tough conversations. There's so much involved. Is there anything more complex than our human relational dynamics? Is there anything more AVOIDED? Getting good at moving towards the interpersonal difficulty, in order to untangle it, sends a leader into the upper echelon. There you find trust that truly endures, integrity that is admired, and the discretionary efforts of their colleagues happily contributed. Brush up on the powerful alignment-building skill in this month's Road Trip, lead by the singular Helen Sampson Mullen. Highly recommend.
