TRANSFERABLE SKILLS Have you ever wanted to apply for a job or respond to an EOI but suffered from impostor syndrome?  Couldn't think of examples for some of the key selection criteria?  Perhaps you could draw on examples from outside formal employment.   Communication & interpersonal skills / dealing with difficult customers • Have you been a committee member with a local sports club? • Served on school council as a parent rep? • Advocated with multiple service providers for a family member with complex medical issues? • Negotiated shared custody of children in a less-than-friendly environment?   Leadership & people management • Have you coached a sports team? • Chaired a committee or working group in the local community? • Provided formal or informal mentoring    Problem solving & project management • Have you moved house? Last week, I completed an A2 course in Dutch! (For those in Ireland wondering, equivalent to Junior Cert level!)
