[TRIGGER WARNING!!!] - EASTER There’s been a movement in recent years for brands to issue warning emails ahead of the likes of Mother’s Day. A courtesy notice that their marketing cannons are being loaded with special event bulletins - seek cover to avoid distress shrapnel. A positive, and thoughtful trend on the whole (if we ignore the fact that the warning email is in itself an unwanted reminder of a missing parent.) However, where is this service when it comes to Easter? Don’t get me wrong, I love a pun. But the onslaught is brutal, it’s the same every year, and THERE’S NO OPT-OUT. Suddenly, everything is ‘EGGS-TRAORDINARY’. Interior design ideas are ‘eggcellent’, deals are ‘eggsclusive’, an evening out is now an ‘eggstravagansa’. Spare a thought this Easter for the eggs-leader of the Lib Dems and Facebook eggsecutive, Nick ClEgg. It must be eggshausting. PLEASE MAKE IT STOP. Or at least declare a fallow year like Glastonbury to grow some new puns. And as for ‘Hoppy Easter’ - immediately get in the sea. #eggsponentialgrowth
