The 4.2% market basket increase might seem like a win, but beware—CMS can now withhold an additional 2% of your Annual Payment Update (APU), adding to the 2% already at risk from Sequestration and Value-Based Purchasing. This means that how well you manage compliance of MDS submissions, rehospitalizations and readmissions is crucial. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀: • 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗡𝗙 𝗤𝗥𝗣: Starting FY 2027, CMS will validate the SNF Quality Reporting Program (QRP) data, selecting 1,500 SNFs annually. Are you ready? • 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Missed deadlines for submitting medical records could reduce your market basket update by 2%. • 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗣𝗨 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: Failure to meet new criteria, including MDS data reporting and audit response, could result in a 2% APU reduction. • 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Audits are announced via iQIES.
