In 5 years of my corporate journey as an HRBP and Employee Relations professional , I have :- 1) Worked with multiple unit heads 2) Done appraisal calibrations for thousands of employees 3) Dealt with confidential data 4) Covered up for multiple people 5) Worked 14 hrs a day 6) Missed most of the celebrations and forgot my own birthday 7) Worked with heads who have reached the top by wrong means 8) Come across multiple posts and stand up comedians making fun of HR function 9) Awarded and appreciated but given minimal hike 10) seen not so favorites of managers losing their jobs 11) faced bias from managers of other teams even when their team was wrong and made mistakes but that Director was among good books of his manager 12) Worked for companies where policies and processes were all distorted and no one was willing to work on it 13) left toxic jobs and then struggled immensely to find new ones only with ONE hope.........It will get better some day ❤️ #leadership #journey #memories

Dear HR Mere andar ka hardworking aur honest employee ne dum tor diya hai. bye bye it can be quite disheartening when your hard work and dedication aren’t acknowledged or appreciated by your company. This lack of recognition can manifest in various ways, such as not receiving credit for projects, feeling undervalued by supervisors. I am sharing my personal experience with my most recent company, but I did not mention a name. Appreciate your employee work before it's too late #employee #HR #companies

#HRLeadership #CareerGrowth #WorkplaceDynamics Hey everyone, I could really use some thoughts on a dilemma I’m facing right now. 🎭 I recently received an offer to step into the Head of HR role, but I can't shake this feeling of being the "corporate villain." Let me break it down for you! Last year, after my boss left, I started reporting directly to our CEO. It’s been great working closely with him, and we've built a good rapport. We've been having some candid discussions about what’s not working in the company, and that’s where things got tricky. 🤔 One topic that came up was a colleague in HR—our HR Manager. Honestly, I’ve struggled to appreciate her contributions. At times she seems toxic, and while she has her moments of kindness, there's a lot of stirring the pot that happens, creating unnecessary drama. I suspect her insecurity is driving this behavior, which isn’t ideal for someone in HR. So, when my boss asked for my input, I made the tough call to recommend we replace her... Am I Becoming a Corporate Villain by Accepting Head of HR Role? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gycTS2vz

Question for my HR network! Faye and I have just been discussing which five celebrities we would have at our dream dinner party (as you do!) my list was: Robert Rinder, Jeremy Clarkson, Victoria Beckham, Tom Jones, and Emma Bunton. It got me thinking, who would I have at my dream HR dinner party? It's actually really blooming hard to choose just five! So I chose Amanda Chadwick, Sharon Benson, Siobhan Sheridan CBE, James Dean, and Steve Browne, SHRM-SCP. Each of these people have inspired me in one way or another in my career, but there are many more that I could mention, so maybe I'll have to have multiple dinner parties! So over to you, which 5 HR professionals would you have at your dream HR dinner party? #hr #dreamdinner #hrconsultant #hrquestionoftheday

In my career as an HR Manager thus far, I am certain of one thing: When you spot toxicity in a company of 100+ employees and management deflects blame onto you instead of addressing it, consider it a victory – your integrity shines brighter than their culture. #hr #motto #mantra #career #toxicenvironment #goals

𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐑…. Change is an inevitable aspect of any job, and the role of an HR professional is no exception. Recently, their responsibilities have expanded to include arranging events and initiating activities, which have become key components of their job descriptions. HR professionals invest significant effort and dedication into organizing events and activities for employees, often without personally knowing them. They strive to create an engaging and positive work environment, going above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect. Despite their efforts, HR professionals often do not receive the recognition or appreciation they deserve. It is important to acknowledge the emotional investment they make in fostering a great workplace culture through any monetary or non-monetary benefits. Small gestures or minor incentives can ensure their efforts do not go unnoticed. Like any other domain or department, HR professionals also deserve appraisals and bonuses as recognition for their contributions especially when it comes to initiating events and activities. What are your thoughts on that my #HR peers? #HRpost #gatheringinsights #HRprofessionals #ChangeisCalling #Amendments #HRjobdescriptions

#perspective I have had recent interactions where I have had a few raised eyebrows that I have left "HR" or being an "HR Business Partner" and now focusing on solely "Talent Aquisition". After 20+ years in every facet of hiring, firing (section 189/189A is a swear word for me), performance management, IR, CCMA, retention and wellness, I found my place in what I what my golden years to focus on - aquisition, employee wellness and talent development. My advice - understand the HR Model and the journey in specialization. *Chose a passion over a title* - I cannot emphasize this enough. Know now your niche/sweet spot/driver at this exact point in your career. There's a time and a season. When you understand this, you will truly be able to make a difference for others. It's taken me 2 surgeries in a 12 month period to know what matters to me.*And what makes me happy*. Much respect to my leader's over the year's who have understood my drivers at different points in my career. I am here. Because you have understood what I will achieve. #makeadifferance #changinglives #unstoppablebecauseiknowmypurpose
