As the year wraps up, THE ICONIC came together to celebrate what makes us truly iconic — our people. Yesterday, we hosted our annual company-wide awards program, The ICON Awards, and the energy and excitement across our hubs was nothing short of amazing!
Our ICONITES are at the centre of everything we do and their passion, innovation and dedication is what drives our success. In the spirit of recognition, we celebrated five extraordinary individuals who go above and beyond to embody our company principles:
⭐ People Are Our Greatest Asset – Renee Roberts
⭐ Dream Big – Jaydeep Sharma
⭐ Stronger Together – Claude-Marie Keirouz
⭐ Customer Obsessed – Ashleigh Hyde
⭐ Style In All We Do – Lisa Bean
We were also lucky enough to be joined by THE ICONIC's co-founder, Adam Jacobs, who reflected on our company principles — most of which were established when THE ICONIC first began, and formed the foundation of our category awards.
Congratulations to everyone involved👏 Your commitment fuels our success and culture, and we look forward to celebrating more of our iconic ICONITES next year!
What an absolute honour! 🎉 Huge congratulations to everyone who was nominated across all categories—it’s amazing to see so much talent and dedication being celebrated!
So many thoughts when I see this. The comments are full of responses to a male being in the CEOs seat of a makeup company... rightfully so. Yes a man can lead a business, yes a business is a business- but when it comes to representing a physical product- the CEO or face of the company shouldnot only represent users of the product- but also be working to meet the needs, demands and trends of younger consumers. Staying ahead of the needs and desires of newer generations who care about the planet, care about their bodies, care about personal expression..... Major names such as Estee Lauder are going to be force to embrace massive changes in the next 10 years as the average consumer "ages out" of their interest in makeup etc. and a new demographic choses to put their HARD EARNED money into products that make them feel good about their choices as a consumer.
Today marks an exciting chapter for The Estée Lauder Companies as our Board of Directors has appointed Stephane de La Faverie as our new President and Chief Executive Officer and member of our Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2025.
With more than 25 years of prestige beauty experience, Stéphane will bring his strategic vision, global industry experience, and profound ambition for the Company and its remarkable brands to build on our legacy and shape the beauty landscape of tomorrow.

Estée Lauder's insightful words remind us that success is not merely a product of dreams, but of hard work and dedication. While dreams set the direction, it is our consistent efforts and perseverance that turn those dreams into reality.
In both our professional and personal lives, it is essential to pair our aspirations with action. Success is achieved through setting goals, working diligently, and continuously striving for improvement.
As we move forward this week, let’s embrace a proactive mindset. Focus on the work that needs to be done to achieve your goals and let your actions speak louder than words.

“Yes, but what actions are you going to take?”
For the past couple years, I have been part of the inclusion and diversity committee in my department (global clinical and consumer sciences) at ELC.
This year, we have been selected as a finalist for the ELC inclusion, diversity, and equity impact award. I am so proud of our team, and ever grateful to our leaders for their shared commitment, carving out time and space for us to learn and grow together.
Our mission is to regularly host events for the department to spread awareness on an important topic and to give people tools to take action, making our [work] life better. A sample of topics covered in the past 2 years: insider/outsider dynamics (allyship), unconscious bias, mental health & work/life harmony, as well as events around women’s history, hispanic, black, and asian heritage month. In May we are hosting an event around neurodiversity awareness, which is dear to my heart.
Why do I contribute to these events? I like public speaking as much as the next person (I don’t!). But my personal goal is to create more, and I know the magic lives outside of my comfort zone… After all, I have spent a lifetime being different and successfully convincing others to include me! So I can contribute a thing or two.
ID&E gets a bad rap, I think, because it overpromises and then gets politicized. ID&E efforts alone are not a panacea for all of society’s many ills. They are a starting point.
Albert Bourla says the workplace is the new town hall and I agree with him. I believe that locally, on an individual or team level, ID&E efforts can have immediate micro benefits which add up over time. Over time, culture shifts can happen. And culture shifts are enduring. When we have open discourse, when we stay curious, action-oriented, and allow our unique humanity to shine through, we can all win.
Congratulations to all the finalists for this prestigious recognition of the incredible work you do year-round.
While I can’t go to the award ceremony April 30 to find out who wins (last day of Passover in the diaspora), I will be rooting for my team and for ALL the finalists. Humbled and honored to be in league with you all! #BeautyofOurLegacy
FAMILY BUSINESS PRACTICE - POST 4
Passing Down #Values Across #Generations
In the tapestry of multi-generational family enterprises, the transmission of values holds a sacred place, serving as the connective tissue that binds successive generations together in a shared pursuit of excellence. Consider The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. family, whose storied #legacy in the cosmetics industry is not merely defined by product innovation but by a steadfast commitment to timeless #values such as creativity, integrity, and relentless pursuit of excellence. From humble beginnings in New York City, #EstéeLauder built an empire founded on the belief that beauty should be accessible to all. However, it was her unwavering dedication to upholding core values that truly set her apart. Today, these values continue to serve as guiding principles for the Lauder family, shaping their approach to business and life alike. Central to the Lauder #family's ethos is the belief that values are not inherited but imparted—a legacy passed down from one generation to the next. Through a combination of storytelling, mentorship, and hands-on experience, the Lauder family has instilled in its #descendants a deep-seated appreciation for the principles that underpin their success.
The impact of this value-driven approach is far-reaching. By aligning their actions with their core values, the Lauder family has not only cultivated a culture of integrity and authenticity within their organization but has also forged a lasting bond that transcends generations. This shared commitment to excellence serves as the bedrock upon which the Lauder legacy continues to thrive, inspiring future generations to uphold their values and carry their legacy forward into the future.
By preserving and embodying core values, families can forge a path toward sustained success and create a legacy that transcends generations, guiding business decisions and fostering a sense of purpose.

My First Year at FITC: A Journey of Growth, Leadership & Impact
Reflecting on my first year at FITC, it feels like a period of accelerated success, new experiences, & impactful moments. From the moment I walked through the doors, I sensed the beginning of something special. On my first day, I met a colleague also resuming that day, and we became friends one of the gifts FITC gave me.
The onboarding experience was flawless, thanks to the support from the P&C team. My first Ignite session was unforgettable. Our guest speaker, Udo Okonjo LL.M Lond, M.IOD UK, shared profound lessons on excellence from her personal journey. The energy in the room was electric, setting the tone for challenges and victories to come.
Soon after, I was thrust into strategic planning for the year & crafting FITC's B&E three-year roadmap. At FITC, it’s excellence or nothing, and my skills were put to the test. My MD, Dr. Chizor Malize CIMLon, MIoD, often placed me on the spot, which pushed me to think more strategically a baptism by fire that sharpened my capabilities.
In February, we celebrated Valentine’s Day with colleagues. A month later, I organized our International Women’s Day event—my first major event with external stakeholders. We launched the FITC Diamond Women Network with a keynote from Dr. Toyin F Sanni, & I reconnected with old friends Dayo Adewale (MCIB, MBA) & Omotayo Ottun.
Throughout the year, I led key initiatives as the Head of Brand & Experience. I spearheaded the marketing & communication strategies for 4 thought leadership conferences and launched an industry report while working closely with the Team. Together, we also launched the FITC Sustainability & ESG Institute, further cementing FITC’s leadership.
Our efforts didn’t go unnoticed FITC received several recognitions, including the Business Excellence Award & Africa Woman of the Year in Leadership for Dr. Malize. On the PR front, I drove over 18 media publications & TV appearances that elevated our brand.
I’m proud of the structures I implemented to improve brand standardization across all touchpoints office, digital platforms, brand assets, & most importantly, our people. These efforts expanded FITC’s visibility through new partnerships and improved customer experience.
FITC’s work-hard, play-hard culture is another highlight. We love celebrating our wins, our end-of-year party amongst others are a testament. Our praise and worship session was the perfect way to start a fulfilling year.
Working closely with Dr. Chizor Malize CIMLon, MIoD, a transformational leader and marketing veteran, has been a major milestone in my career. Her guidance has deeply impacted my professional journey.
As I step into year 2, I’m excited for what lies ahead. A big thank you to Alaba Ekundayo for your support, my amazing B&E team, & all my colleagues for making this year remarkable.

Founder @ The Guardian Shield | "The Youngest Deputy Sheriff in the World" Guinness Book of World Records, Rising Stars Productions, Daltons Georgias Carpet Capitol of the world is a baren lint field! Why what happened
To Stéphane de La Faverie,
The key challenge ahead is to drive Estée Lauder back to growth and reclaim market share. Despite the beauty market's robust expansion, Estée Lauder has been losing ground to newer, more innovative brands.
As the new CEO, it's essential to establish a clear vision for our diverse conglomerate. Each brand requires a distinct strategy, while ensuring they collectively serve the consumer market effectively.
China's performance is another critical focus area. Our middle-market offerings are struggling as Chinese consumers either trade down to value or up to luxury. Additionally, the prestige market is becoming increasingly competitive with local brands.
I discussed these points with Vogue Business, and you can find the full article in the comments. Remember, any Business, any Position is just a mere game Its How you play the game that enables you to tower above the Rest.
Best regards,
Rodney Bearden
Reporter for The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires
Estée Lauder has turned to an insider to take on the top job, bringing an end to succession drama at the cosmetics maker.
Confirming an earlier report by The Wall Street Journal, the company appointed Stéphane de La Faverie as its next chief executive, succeeding Fabrizio Freda, who will retire after more than 16 years at Estée Lauder.
The board had been searching for a successor for several months, after Freda earlier this year announced plans to retire, though directors and members of the Lauder family were split over whether an insider should take over or if an outsider was needed.
