I don't think it's romantic-- I think it is logical and pragmatic and a way to survive as a species on earth. When you have justice in a society and the leader of that society supports a healthy humanity, all people flourish--not just the few at the top. However, when you have a leader like we just elected, you have a path to selfishness and greed which eventually destroys all of society in one way or another. Study historical leaders and ask yourself, did they really "flourish" as a leader and what happened to the society they led? What was the long-term results for the people/ society they wooed with false promises? In most cases, such a leader rules a society that eventually weakens, crumbles, and dies out or is absorbed by a stronger and healthier society.
Morning reflection, been playing on my mind, you can call me a romantic by saying: “We need #leaders not in #love with #money but in #love with #justice. Not in #love with #publicity but in #love with #humanity.” — Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Honoring Dr. King – Leading with Strength and Purpose Today, we honor the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader who changed the world through his compelling vision, courage, and ability to inspire others. Dr. King knew the power of understanding both his strengths and the needs of those around him to effectively lead movements and foster change. In the same way, understanding your unique strengths and how you interact with others can help you lead with purpose and connect meaningfully. Whether in your workplace, community, or relationships, self-awareness and intentional communication are tools that drive success and unity. Let’s reflect on his example and ask ourselves: How can we use our strengths to better serve others and bring positive change to our world? #MLKDay #LeadershipThroughUnderstanding #StrengthInUnity #KnowYourself

It is easy to feel overwhelmed by the unknown and not move or act. I get stuck from time-to-time when things get overwhelming. I met with a colleague and friend for tea today and she helped me get "unstuck." She reminded me of this powerful legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. - encouraging me to trust the process, embrace courage and take small yet meaningful steps forward, even when the path ahead isn’t clear. If you believe in yourself, take that first step in faith and trust that the outcome will unfold for the best. Whether it's launching a new project, pursuing a passion or stepping into the unknown, every journey begins with that first step. Let #MLK inspire you to act boldly and trust that the rest of the staircase will reveal itself in time. What is one small step you're taking today toward a goal or dream? #Leadership #Resilience #FaithOverFear #GrowthMindset #Inspiration #MondayMotivation

She's not the one, King! 🚫👑 Let's break it down clearly: 1. Seek a partner who honors your principles. 🤝 2. Compromise? Not. 3. Your lifestyles should sync seamlessly. 🔄 4. This, my friend, is the secret sauce to lasting joy. 😊 5. Choose someone who's your biggest cheerleader. 📣 6. If smoking's off the table for you, stick to that. 🚭 7. Your beliefs aren't up for negotiation. 🛑 8. Core values? They're called 'core' for a reason. Stick to them. 💎 9. Vision alignment is crucial. Look for that shared dream. 👀 10. Boundaries are to be respected, not challenged. 🚧 Remember, King, settling is not an option.

NEVER FOLLOW LOST LEADERS... Dr. King's assassination thrust the American slave culture into emotional shock. Having no leader to explain the situation "in an emotionless way" and strategize the next move "cold and calculatedly," ordinary slaves became enraged that our leader was murdered. Emotion took over. Having no leader to tell us what to do and no identifiable adversary we could blame for Dr. King's death, we lashed out at whites by destroying businesses in our communities that were mostly owned by immigrants. We became a leaderless mob. Thinking they were next in line for a bullet, those Negro leaders left standing after Dr. King fell had already run for cover. They later resurfaced but distanced themselves from Dr. King's Negro leadership by claiming they were African American leaders. Instead of continuing the fight for Civil Rights, they started diverse programs and started gathering wealth for themselves. This divided our people even further and confused us even more.
