#research 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘀 ❗ Several species of the genus #Pseudomonas are known to be highly tolerant to #solvents and #environmental stress. Based on phylogenomic and comparative genomic analyses, some Pseudomonas species were recently transferred to a new genus named #Halopseudomonas, often more stable and active under extreme conditions. This makes them ideal candidates for: 🧪 #Biocatalysis in industrial processes, especially those involving #harsh chemical environments. ☣️ #Bioremediation, where they can help degrade pollutants in saline or solvent-rich environments. ♻️ #Sustainable_Biotechnology, including the production of value-added compounds. In a recently published paper, Carla C.C.R. de Carvalho, the student Pedro Mattos, and scientists from the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) and Forschungszentrum Jülich, both in Germany, evaluated the growth parameters and #stress_tolerance of five Halopseudomonas strains.
