The insurance sector has shown steady improvement over the past few years in the diversity and equality space It's great to see Insurance companies (and effectively competitors) coming together to collaborate on these improvements.
Lloyd's, along with Arch Insurance International, AXA XL, Beazley, Chubb, Hiscox, Howden, MS Amlin and Tokio Marine Kiln, has unveiled plans to provide higher education bursaries to black and ethnically diverse talent, in a bid to make the insurance industry inclusive. https://hubs.li/Q02FNhMR0

Reflecting on H1: A Journey of Growth and Achievement I can't believe how quickly the first half of the year has flown by! As I look back on H1, I'm amazed at the journey and accomplishments that have shaped these past months. Here are some highlights: 1. Student Union Election (February): - Winning the Ulster University Students' Union election was an unexpected and humbling experience. The campaigning process was eye-opening and significantly strengthened my network. I'm ready to fulfill the promises made in my manifesto and much more in H2. 2. Co-Founder Program by Catalyst: - Participating in the Catalyst Co-Founders Program was incredibly enriching. Although my co-founder and I didn't make it to the final round, the experience was invaluable and taught us so much. 3. Santander X Explorer Program: - Completing the Santander X Explorer Program was a milestone. The knowledge and skills gained have been transformative. 4. Accredited Product Advisor - Commercial(APA-CL): - Achieving the APA-CL accreditation from The Insurance Institute of Ireland was a significant professional milestone. Passing four examinations with three distinctions out of four is something I'm extremely proud of. 5. MSc International Business with Data Analytics: - I completed my MSc at Ulster University with distinction, focusing my dissertation on the integration of big data in the decision-making process by the insurance sector in Northern Ireland. I look forward to furthering my research in this exciting field. 6. Career Transition: - After a successful year as a Product Advisor with AXA Ireland, I decided to resign and embrace new opportunities and challenges. All these activities, among many others, happened concurrently, and I'm grateful to have excelled in each endeavor, managing my tasks effectively and succeeding extremely well. As I look forward to H2, I am excited about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. I give all glory to God for His guidance and blessings throughout this journey. Here's to a promising and fulfilling H2! #ReflectingOnH1 #CareerGrowth #StudentUnion #CoFounderProgram #SantanderXExplorer #ProductAdvisor #MScGraduation #CareerTransition #Gratitude #NewBeginnings #Thankful

I had a fantastic time attending the "Credit for Life" event and working with high school students, as they prepare to make their first financial decisions. In Massachusetts, it is essential to equip all students with personal finance basics. This education will help them navigate the complexities of the financial system and avoid future pitfalls. #FinancialEducation #EmpoweringStudents #Financialliteracy
Women’s Money Matters team joined the Institution for Savings Credit for Life Fair in Lynn! Through interactive stations, high school students explored real-life budgeting and money management tips they can carry throughout their lives. We were excited to participate in this event, which provided practical financial wellness tools to high school juniors empowering them to build a stronger financial future. 💡💪 #FinancialWellness #YouthEmpowerment #CreditForLife

What are you celebrating this week? Not all achievements have to be significant for you to celebrate. Even small achievements need to be celebrated. Progress is a great thing, and it should be celebrated. I recently published my second short story and have started getting some positive responses from my insurance sales contact. That's what I am celebrating this week. Remember, it's essential to keep learning to do new, fantastic things and celebrate the small wins that you achieve from learning new things. What small achievement are you celebrating today?

Not every detail of your life needs to be shared. Sometimes, silence and privacy protect your peace and progress. Focus on your journey, and let your achievements speak for themselves when the time is right. 🌱 🎓 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗕𝗩𝗜! Grab your diary and secure your place. Our next IRLA Academy session is going to be an absolutely enlightening event, featuring great speakers, fascinating insights - and even a live debate! Legacy Claims: The Future and The Great Causation Debate takes place on Tuesday 8 October at America Square in London. It will provide an update on long tail claims and emerging areas of (possible) future liability in the legacy market, as well as covering recent developments in a range of emerging risks and how they will affect the legacy market. For the first time, we'll run a debate on the causation principles/tests that could apply in such cases, with two leading Kings Counsel arguing for completing tests that might apply in a range of cases. This session will NOT be recorded, so it's your one opportunity to immerse yourself in some incredible learning scope, and to be among great professionals. Our contributor line-up includes Liam Bedford, Wynne Lawrence, Nathalie Smyth, Polly Miller, Jayne Adams KC, Michael Rawlinson KC. The 10 Year "Experience Adviser" education pathway is an excellent opportunity for the profession to boost adviser numbers over the shorter term, with quality professionals. However, like all things, care needs to be taken with its application. As noted in the article below (see link) ... “It doesn’t explicitly require that the licensee go in and make those inquiries or verify that the adviser’s affirmation is true, but they should query if there are roundabout provisions in the Corporations Act that require you to do that digging around. For example, the requirement to take reasonable steps to ensure that your representatives comply with financial services law." This puts the onus squarely on the shoulders of the AFSL. Former employed advisers will face the greatest challenges in proving their experience as not all licensees added their advisers’ full back history regarding previous employment when the FAR was implemented (in 2015). “Former employed advisers are the ones who will face the greatest challenges and who will have to think about how they evidence their previous experiences.” https://lnkd.in/eyKdzFmx
