Yesterday marked an exciting day for our Uncrustables® business. After years of planning and preparation, our newest manufacturing facility in McCalla, Alabama is now open! We celebrated the milestone with a ribbon cutting ceremony that was attended by state and local officials in addition to Smucker leadership. We’re proud to join the Jefferson County community and look forward to growing the Uncrustables brand together.

One of the most difficult business decisions in my career. As this is the plant I started my DSM career 10.5 years ago, it especially was not the one I wished we had to take when I started in my new role. I can only echo the words as written down by Richard Oosterhoff in the message below.

Today, we as TTH leadership explained the strategic rationale of the closure of our Delft GPB yeast extract factory in an honest and transparent way to the 150 employees impacted, together with Esther de Graaf-Groenendijk and Dirk Lippits. End of next year 155 years of yeast production in Delft comes to an end. Of course we are all saddened with this outcome and truly appreciate the hard work and dedication of the entire team and we are grateful for their continued support to bring GPB safely to the finish line.
