Interesting study just published about human-derived human milk fortifiers and electrolyte derangements. Of course we all know mother's milk is the best, but many babies need fortifiers or an alternative to breast milk. We need to continue finding the best and safest way to help out mothers and infants by supporting spectacular research by world experts. #infantformula

450+ genetic disorders fall under the category of skeletal dysplasias. These rare conditions impact the development of bone and cartilage, leading to a wide range of symptoms and challenges. 🦴 🔍 Key Facts: Incidence: Approximately 1 in every 4,000 to 5,000 births. Common Features: ✔️ Short stature ✔️ Shortened extremities ✔️ Abnormal rib cage ✔️ Bowed or fractured bones 🦵 Some well-known types include: ✔️ Achondroplasia: A common form of disproportionate short stature. ✔️ Osteogenesis Imperfecta: Known as "brittle bone disease." ✔️ Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia and Multiple Epiphyseal Dysplasia: Conditions affecting specific areas of the bones. 👩⚕️ Join our free, accredited course to explore Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS), focusing on forms that present as skeletal dysplasias. You'll learn through real clinical case examples and gain valuable tools to better recognize and manage these complex conditions. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gFRQ53kr #SkeletalDysplasias #GeneticDisorders #MPS #Pediatrics #FreeCourse #MedicalEducation #HealthcareProfessionals

Think of structural malformation once it comes to recurrent complaints… Post infectious bronchial stenosis is one of the rare complications associated with Adenovirus pneumonia. Once a segmental bronchi undergoes stenosis, the chances of re-infection of the same lobe significantly increases. Here is a 3 year old child with Adenovirus pneumonia who had Right middle lobe bronchial stenosis. There was recurrence of pneumonia involving the same lobe for which the child had recurrent hospitalisations in the past 6 months. In view of recurrent pneumonia, we decided to do Bronchoscopic bronchial dilatation to revive the lung lobe and preventing irreversible parenchymal damage. #pediatric #interventional #pulmonology #adenovirus #recurrentpneumonia #stenosis #dilatation #jupiterhospital #thane #drkaustubhmohite

Babesia is a vector borne disease that can lead to symptoms as discussed including: - Night Sweats - Dysautonomia (or dysregulation of autonomic or automatic nervous system) - Air hunger - Alice in Wonderland Syndrome (where everything is distorted) If your child has these symptoms, it often takes a multisystem approach to help including: - correct sleep - decrease inflammatory cytokines - help the immune system adapt to stress - correct hormone imbalances - provide essential micronutrients - remove dysbiosis - kill Babesia germs with herbal or prescription antibiotics and antimalarials. - provide enzymes to break up nests of Babesia and the blood-clotting protein called fibrin While current treatment protocols for babesiosis recommend use of antibiotics including atovaquone, azithromycin, clindamycin, quinine, and their combinations, these regimens are often associated with treatment failures and significant side effects, even in immunocompetent patients. In addition, epidemiologic studies have documented that up to 23% of patients with babesiosis experienced concurrent Lyme disease and its associated disabling effects. According to this laboratory study, the five herbal medicines that demonstrated inhibitory activity against B. duncani are: - Cryptolepis sanguinolenta - Artemisia annua (Sweet wormwood) - Scutellaria baicalensis (Chinese skullcap) - Alchornea cordifolia (African Christmas bush) - Polygonum cuspidatum (Japanese knotweed) Check out my membership at drohara.com and the article below! Abstract: In this talk, Dr. Sharon Hausman-Cohen will discuss how genetic variants can interact with an individual's diet and environment and how they relate to physical symptoms and diseases such as ASD, environmentally acquired illness, inflammatory and irritable bowel, and PANS. Additionally, she will elucidate how an individual’s genomics can relate to their gut microbiome and how this can contribute to health and chronic issues ranging from depression to ASD. Objectives: •Be able to describe how an overactive CBS pathway can contribute to ASD risk and mitochondrial dysfunction •Be able to list 3 genes whose variants can contribute to inflammatory bowel disease •Understand the role of gut related genomics in autoimmunity including PANS/PANDAS. Ovarian cancer is a harmful growth in the ovaries, vital parts of the female reproductive system. These organs produce eggs and hormones, such as estrogen and progesterone. In this type of cancer, cells grow rapidly, damaging healthy tissue. Although the exact cause is unknown, specific genetic mutations increase the risk. These mutations cause cells to multiply uncontrollably, forming tumors that can spread throughout the body. https://lnkd.in/gJE2WpWn #ricevillage #westumoms #westuniversityplace #emergencyroom #ER #medicalemergency #houston #bellaire #westuniversityplacetx #westu #houstontx #bellairehouston #bellairetx #montrose #montrosehouston #theheights #theheightshouston #houstonheights #flu #covid #rsv #fluseason #injury #pediatrics #pediatric
