As an anti-trafficking organization, we recognize that tomorrow, the National Day of Mourning, is a time to reflect on the historical and ongoing injustices faced by Indigenous peoples across the United States. For many, Thanksgiving is a day of gratitude, but for Indigenous communities, it serves as a reminder of colonial violence, land theft, and cultural erasure that continues to impact generations. Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit individuals are disproportionately affected by human trafficking and violence, a reality rooted in systemic racism, economic disenfranchisement, and historical trauma. Addressing these issues is essential to dismantling the structures that perpetuate exploitation and harm. As we work toward a world free from trafficking, we must center the voices and experiences of Indigenous communities, advocate for policies that protect their rights, and amplify the resilience and sovereignty of Native peoples. We honor those who have been lost and commit to standing in solidarity with Indigenous communities as we strive for justice and liberation.

A Super PAC dedicated to representing the American Descendants of Slavery is necessary to ensure this community has the resources to advocate for their rights. A Super PAC (Political Action Committee) is an independent expenditure-only committee that is able to raise unlimited funds from corporations, unions, individuals, and other groups to support or oppose political candidates or issues. The American Descendants of Slavery have faced generations of systemic racism and discrimination that have hindered their ability to achieve true equality and justice. In order to combat these injustices and advocate for their rights, it is crucial for this marginalized group to have a Super PAC dedicated to their cause. A Super PAC would provide the American Descendants of Slavery with the financial resources necessary to support political candidates who are committed to addressing issues such as police brutality, economic inequality, and educational disparities. With the backing of a Super PAC, this community would have a stronger voice in shaping policies and legislation that directly impact their lives. Furthermore, a Super PAC would allow the American Descendants of Slavery to mobilize and organize more effectively, amplifying their message and reaching a wider audience. By pooling their resources and working together, this community can increase their influence and visibility in the political sphere. #ChangePolicy ALT Text Donald Rivers standing in front of the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Memorial in Washington D.C.

Over the past few weeks, our founder Allison K. Ralph, Ph.D. has had the privilege of attending (and facilitating) three dynamic convenings with Philanthropy for Active Civic Engagement (PACE), Inter-Movement Impact Project, and Peace and Security Funders Group exploring the state of democracy, pluralism, and polarization following our most recent election. These gatherings—spanning funder-only spaces, grantee-driven discussions, and broad civic conversations—surfaced four key themes with striking consistency. Each theme reminded us that division doesn’t have to be a terminal condition, and the conversations underscored how collective work can move us all forward. By working together, at the intersections of peace, democracy, and social cohesion, lies the potential to transform conflict into collaboration, continuing to #ExpandWhatsPossible. https://lnkd.in/e76Wx8wF

The solution to racism in educational settings (or anywhere) must never be to burden students (or any person) with the notion that they should "cope with," "ignore," "push through," "be bigger than _____," or, as I heard it said today, "choose a better educational program." The solution to racial and all other forms of discrimination must always be to address those acts head on. Yes, it takes courage and ingenuity and collaborative effort to dismantle these systems, but the moment we shift the focus to "fixing" or repositioning those who experience oppression, is the moment we've lost the battle. It's the moment we've contributed to their demise. It's the moment when we choose to be part of the problem rather than part of the solution. #MLK #maladjustment #antiracistwork #DEI #antiracism #keepthemainthingthemainthing

Keep The Dream Foundation t/a Daily Bread Organisation The recent events have highlighted the disturbing return of apartheid-style tactics, cloaked in the guise of so-called "cleanups." As a society, we must confront the harsh reality that these actions are inflicting deep trauma on all of us. It's time to stop turning a blind eye and start counting the true cost of these heavy-handed measures. The psychological and emotional toll on individuals and communities cannot be ignored. We must demand accountability and insist on a more humane, compassionate approach that respects the dignity of every person, regardless of their documentation status. This is not about politics or bureaucracy - it's about basic human rights and the well-being of our fellow citizens. We cannot allow the cycle of oppression to continue unchecked. It's time to stand up, speak out, and fight for a society that truly values justice, equality, and the sanctity of human life.

🧡 We're focused on spreading compassion and kindness. The durability of these values requires us to recognize and contend with forces in ourselves and our society that dehumanize and degrade others. As parents, families, and members of communities who seek to raise one another up, we must point out and condemn racism, brutality, and indifference to suffering wherever we see it. We must also examine our own racism and the limits to our own compassion. We encourage families to discuss these issues honestly and openly using this growing list of resources: https://lnkd.in/ecycYZU Our children will be better able to break this chain of bias and distrust if we give them opportunities to think deeply and talk openly about justice, inequity and humanity from a young age — and how together we can build a better world.

Today is National Sorry Day, and today and every day we acknowledge and remember the harms colonisation, The Stolen Generation and ongoing discrimination have caused First Nations people and we say sorry. We also acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generation survivors, who have managed to live through horrific and inexcusable events. We are committed to working towards a community free of racism and discrimination and are dedicated to elevating and supporting First Nations voices. First Nations people should be involved in all levels of decision making, from the community level to the federal level. WHGNE understand that saying sorry is just the beginning and we will continue to work towards First Nations wellbeing and justice.

Cheshire East Green Party stands firmly against fascism. We are not: Scapegoating of and racially attack minority communities. Misogynists. We do not like: Disinformation and propaganda. We do not: Appeal to social and economic frustration. Polarise communities. Threaten human rights and the rule of law. We do: Cherish diversity. Value powerful women and peace-making over violence. Ask for evidence and don't share lies. Believe in truth. Address the real causes of poverty and deprivation. Stand up for your rights and the laws that protect them.
