Celebrating birthdays in a fun and meaningful way for those in the helping or service professions. Here are some ideas: For Personal Celebration: Themed Sessions: On your birthday, consider doing a themed session focused on growth, reflection, or gratitude. You could incorporate fun activities like guided meditations or journaling prompts. Client Appreciation: Use your birthday as an opportunity to express gratitude to your clients. You could send out personalized thank-you notes or small tokens of appreciation. *This depends on what type of client or business relationship you have. Mini Workshop or Group Session: Host a special workshop or group session on a topic you love, inviting colleagues to join. This can be a great way to celebrate by sharing your passion and expertise. Creative Expression: Create a piece of art or playlist that reflects your journey as a coach or therapist. Self-Care Day: Take the day to indulge in self-care activities that you might not usually have time for, such as a spa day, a nature walk, or spending time with loved ones. Another way is to do nothing, but relax and gather with friends or family in the evening. Whatever you decide to do...have a wonderful day!

Today is my birthday! And it’s a big one. What do you make of big birthdays? Are you excited about the wisdom and life experience you've gathered as you get older, or do you worry about what's still on your bucket list as another decade is behind you? If I'm to be completely honest, it’s a bit of both for me. Some of the wisdom I’ve gathered over the years: 🩷 Seek joy wherever you can. If you find yourself sweating the small stuff, get over it as fast as you can. 🩷 Happiness always comes from within. 🩷 Be grateful for all that you have. Seek out the light in the darkness. 🩷 Keep an open heart and give people the benefit of the doubt. A few things on my bucket list: ✅ Empower and equip thousands of heart-centered end-of-life educators to help people live with intention and purpose and die graciously. ✅ Fall madly in love with someone. ✅ Spend some months in Sicily as a digital nomad. ✅ Write a book. What do you make of big birthdays?

Birthdays: To Celebrate or Not to Celebrate? So, my birthday was day before yesterday (yes, I’m still glowing, thanks for asking). I was showered with wishes, and honestly, I felt so blessed! Like, wow, people actually remembered (or their calendar reminders did, but I’ll take it). Here’s the thing though: Are birthdays that important? Some people go all out—balloons, cakes, parties, maybe a petting zoo. Meanwhile, others treat it like just another day, with maybe a quiet dinner and some Netflix. For me, I’ve come to think that birthdays aren’t about how you celebrate but why. It’s a moment to pause and reflect, to feel gratitude for the love you receive, and maybe eat way too much cake. Oh, and about celebrations being mandatory—let’s just say it’s YOUR day, so you get to call the shots. Want to party? Go for it. Want to stay in your PJs all day? Totally valid. But whatever you do, don’t forget to take a moment to feel blessed, because you’re here, thriving, and that’s worth celebrating. So, what’s your take? Are birthdays a big deal, or just another day on the calendar? Let’s chat in the comments! ⬇️

Back in the day … Is a statement that every parent has used on their children at least once 😂 Dare I say it’s become somewhat ineffective in many cases, because of how often it’s been used, especially when there’s no record to back up the claim. But that’s a post for another day. I saw the attached image and immediately said: ‘Yes! Like half birthdays 😂’ Simply because I have been teased about this for the longest time. But think about it. When a baby is born, you celebrate every month as a milestone but the 6th is a big deal. Then there’s the first birthday and all of a sudden, months don’t matter in birthday celebrations. It’s the big ones that are celebrated: 5, then 10, 13 then 16, 21 then 25. Why? Anyway, I’m here to tell you this weekend to celebrate your small wins. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s not ‘enough’ to be celebrated. The balance though is that, even when there is a ‘record to back up your claim’ unlike some of our parents’ back-in-the-day stories, don’t settle there. One of the greatest disservice you can do to yourself is coast on past glories. Your last best is a minimum standard for you. So be content, live in the moment, celebrate victories along the way, but don’t be complacent! Is this where I say #TGIF or it makes no difference to your schedule? 😂😭 Have a great weekend everyone.
