When we started this podcast we had the ambition to speak with the biggest personalities in the design industry. Little could we imagine that the second episode of the second season would feature Moira Moser, FAIA, FHKIA, FCTBUH, NCARB, founder and Chairwoman of MMoser Associates. Moira was an inspiration throughout the whole interview, in which she shared the secrets to her practice and her view of the future. https://lnkd.in/gWSXgVww

"𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴" Workplace strategy experts Domino Risch and Dr Kirsten Brown share how companies in Australia are layering workplace hospitality, new technologies, and a “give-it-a-go" attitude to guide workplace innovation and catapult the market into one of the most progressive in the world. And as flexible space outpaces commercial real estate as the new office go-to, they discuss what it takes to integrate authenticity in workplace design. https://lnkd.in/e5eX6aXG

I took a break from my regular podcast routine of Pardon My Take and Theo for a special episode of Stacking Your Team with Shelli L. Warren. Why is it special? The topic is interesting - the workplace environment's design, but the talent is also pretty top-notch. I am proud of Lindsay for showcasing her 9 to 5 talent of brand storytelling and how it's essential both externally and internally. To hear Lindsay and Jenni talk about 23 East (their office/design studio/showroom) it makes sense why Lindsay told me this was a job she had to take. Great work! Takeaway - Don't overlook unique things about your business; it can sometimes be those nuances that attract your talent and clients. Also, what must you have in your working area to make you feel dialed in?

In the late 1970s, sculptor Jim Yurchenko was asked by Steve Jobs to redesign the computer mouse, which at the time cost $400 and had a complex design. Yurchenko’s innovative use of a trackball simplified and revolutionized how we use the mouse today. He later became a designer and innovator at IDEO, a company known for pioneering design thinking. This story prompts a key question for us: How much do we allow “out of the box” thinkers or cultural “misfits” to thrive within policing organizations? By joining this movement, you’ve already signaled that you’re likely an innovator or early adopter. What has been your experience with standing out in an organizational culture? Does research support the idea that “fitting in” is necessary—or even beneficial? We’d love to hear your thoughts, and I recommend checking out Adam Grant’s WorkLife podcast for insights. Let us know what resonates with you. https://lnkd.in/gTJTwBtT
