I began my career like many litigators, driving to courthouses every morning for discovery conferences. But I quickly realized my true passion lay elsewhere. While my peers thrived on courtroom procedures, I found my calling in analyzing and interpreting the law. Today, I use that passion to support fellow lawyers, providing insights, advice, and advocacy in complex cases across New York’s Appellate Division, Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Court of Appeals. I have the drive and experience. Let’s navigate your legal challenges together. #smwappeals #appeals #appellatepractice #lawfirm #lawyerlife #attorneylife #appellatepractice #appellateadvocate

I often post about being civil with opposing counsel and the other side. This approach to family law cases leads to higher chances of resolution and helps lower the conflict. It also leads to better advocacy, as you can stay focused on the issues and client goals, instead of personal arguments that don't advance the case. An added observation - overly hostile opposing counsel usually don't stick around on a file for a long time. Their clients end up changing counsel to someone with a more reasonable approach. #law #lawyer #familylawyer

"Civility in the Legal Profession: As you embark on your legal practice, remember to treat colleagues, opposing counsel, and judges with respect and courtesy, even in contentious matters. Focus your passion and intensity on the facts of the case and applicable law, not on personal attacks. Go "bare knuckles" with the case and law, not with colleagues. Handle each case with the knowledge that while the case will end, your relationships with colleagues and judges will endure.. That you will likely work with opposing counsel again or appear before the same judge in future cases. Therefore, always “ATTACK THE CASE, NOT THE PERSON. Maintain civility as this will ensure a more productive and respectful legal community, even in the midst of intense advocacy." #LegalPractice #Lawyers #Civility
