Why a Bridge? One of the interesting stories I heard during my wide consultations before starting Elim House Missions is about missionaries visiting churches to speak to the congregation with hopes of raising (mostly financial) support. Where the church authorities permit the missionaries to address the congregation, an offering would typically be taken afterward for the missionaries. However, in some (or many?) cases, only a small part of such offerings (50% or less) would be given to the missionaries while the church would keep the rest. The missionaries would be informed that the church pastor is also a missionary. I am not claiming that this happens most of the time, but from what I heard, it has happened and probably still happens. As much as I appreciate churches supporting missionaries as a unit, I am of the view that it doesn't make for effective support; at least not the way it is mostly run. By "...the way it is mostly run", I mean a situation where a 'missions offering' is taken and general prayers raised periodically to support missionaries. My argument is: 1. Such offerings quickly become merely ceremonial. Church members are not giving with awareness of a real need. They give because they were asked and so don't give much. 2. Research has shown that only about 0.1% of all Christian giving is directed toward mission efforts in the 38 most unevangelized countries. This general statistic gives a slight indication of just how much of the typical offering actually goes to missions. 3. There is a vast number of interdenominational missionaries who are not sponsored by a denomination or church. Giving in churches tends to go (if at all) only to the missionaries under the church's payroll, leaving a large population of missionaries unsupported. 4. There is a difference between support for the mission work and support for the missionary. Here's a question: compared to the number of times you have given towards buying Bibles or building a local church on a mission field (etc.), how many times have you given towards the feeding or schooling of children of missionaries? 5. Supporting missionaries is more than giving money. Many Christians are so far removed from missionaries that if you ask them to pray for missionaries, they draw blank. There is no real burden in their hearts because they are not aware of the needs of missionaries. These are some reasons Elim House Missions operates as a bridge of love, care, welfare, and support between Christians and missionaries. Our model allows us to aggregate the resources our partners provide but also allows our partners to have direct interactions with the missionaries. This way, there is a real connection, making the support our partners provide more than a chore or mere ceremony. Our partners enjoy the privilege of seeing the real impact they make in the lives and families of the missionaries we support. Join us at https://lnkd.in/d2jPB9Mk

After spending over six years in church administration and planning hundreds of funerals for grieving families, I've witnessed firsthand the challenges and complexities that come with end-of-life planning. My experiences in the Pro-Life movement for more than 15 years, especially organizing estate planning seminars addressing Living Wills in relation to Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide, showed me a profound need within our community. I often found myself thinking, "I wish there was a way to get this vital information to more people and help them make better healthcare decisions." In early 2021, while working for Relevant Radio, the topic of planned giving surfaced. It became clear that nonprofits needed to encourage people to consider making a bequest. The optimal moment for this ask is when individuals are creating their Will, right at the question of "Will you leave anything to charity?" I realized that integrating this with an accessible platform could revolutionize how we approach end-of-life planning and charitable giving. That's when Catholic Legacy was born. After three years of dedication and more than 10,000 hours of development, I'm thrilled to announce the launch of CatholicLegacy.com —the most comprehensive online platform in the world for end-of-life planning services tailored specifically for Catholics. Here's what makes Catholic Legacy truly unique: Funeral Planning Like Never Before: For the first time ever, you can fully pre-plan your funeral or arrange the funeral Mass of a recently departed loved one entirely online. Choose readings, select songs, and outline every detail to ensure a service that truly reflects your faith and wishes. Catholic-Aligned Healthcare Directives: Create a fully formed legal healthcare directive that embodies Catholic teaching. Secure Will Creation: Craft your legal Last Will and Testament with ease and delight. Then utilize our platform's secure, Dropbox-like document storage and sharing system. Our platform isn't just comprehensive — it's also FREE! As a nonprofit dedicated to helping people prepare for life's final moments, we're committed to making these essential services accessible to all. Since making the website public this past summer, the response has been incredible. Users are expressing immense appreciation, and our community is growing exponentially. Remarkably, about one-third of users are leaving gifts to charity in their Wills — five times the national average. We're on pace to have over $100 million committed to charity within the next month or two. I'm profoundly grateful to God for blessing me with the opportunity to be part of creating this amazing gift to the Catholic faithful. Please share this resource with your parish priest as well. It will save hundreds of hours in administrative work for funerals and can help secure transformational bequests. Together, let's simplify the journey of end-of-life planning, honor our faith, and support the causes we hold dear.

Healthcare makes raising families hard. The system's big, expensive, & pushes radical social agendas (transgenderism/abortion/DEI) to an alarming degree. What can be done? Samaritan Ministries understands the fears/unknowns/questions. Society has become dependent on Big Insurance to take care of health needs (much like the dependence on Big Tech to broadcast sermons & Big Government to educate children). It's the church's responsibility to care for God's people. Most hospitals began as charitable extensions of the church. Samaritan Ministries seeks to recover a Biblical model, with a network of Christians supporting one another's medical needs. As you can imagine, it only works if there're enough participants. https://lnkd.in/epFMcxYg #GospelSermon #Luke2 #HouseholdofFaithinChrist #WordOfGod #MiraculousHealing #TestimonyOfFaith #FrederickMaryland #PowerInPrayer #LordSaviorKing #PersonAndWorkOfJesus
