Thank you to the 39 parents and who joined our recent Talking Heads Session! We covered important topics to help families better navigate the educational support system. 🔑 Key Takeaways: ✔️ Challenging Decisions: Thomas offered expert advice on when and how to challenge decisions effectively. ✔️ SMART Outcomes: We discussed how to ensure EHCP outcomes are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-Bound) to avoid ambiguity and ensure clear support plans. ✔️ Emergency Annual Reviews: Schools can hold these reviews without the need for a SEN Office, providing flexibility for families. ✔️ Clear EHCP Wording: Precision in EHCP language (e.g., specifying the level of 1:1 support) helps ensure children get the exact support they need. The feedback was fantastic, with many parents saying how helpful and informative the session was, with some wishing they'd had access to this advice earlier. We appreciate everyone who attended and asked insightful questions. Thank you again to Thomas from Birkett Long. Stay tuned for Talking Heads in the new year, more support and resources are on the way!
