Last Monday at the Vendée Globe, Magenta x IMOCA powered by 11th Hour Racing hosted a special event to “Keep women (in) sailing from 10 to 100” The 4-hour event included a panel featuring Olympic IQ Foiler Hélène Noesmoen, Clarisse Crémer, the fastest woman to circumnavigate the globe in an IMOCA; Paul Meilhat, offshore champion and Ocean Race veteran; and Rosalin Kuiper, who is preparing to compete as the skipper of Team Holcim-PRB in the Ocean Race Europe while also welcoming her first child. The lively panel discussion that covered personal stories and perspectives on the topic was followed by an interactive workshop, which reflected on the last 50 years of the sport and series of resolutions to reach a truly gender inclusive and equal industry. Over 60 members of the sailing industry, from IMOCA skippers and leaders, Magenta alumni and mentors to shipbuilders like BENETEAU participated in the conversation and helped to design 10 resolutions for the industry.
