The Marine Diaries’ Post

Introducing our third and final panellist for our screening 🎬 of X Trillion next week! Nick Doman is the CEO and Co-Founder of Ocean Bottle 🌊. He wants to change the way businesses work, believing that 1% for the planet isn’t enough to tackle the social and environmental problems we face. In his view, impact shouldn’t be relegated to a by-product of a company’s operations, and purpose needn’t be at the expense of profit 💰. He believes that truly transparent and impactful companies will grow the fastest, especially when they harness tech for good. Ocean Bottle is already leading by example, having hit a turnover of £1m in its first year, while being profitable and contributing 17% of revenue to plastic collection 🙌. Nick previously worked on the investments team of the UK’s largest venture builder, Blenheim Chalcot, and was listed in Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2020 🏆. He has tri-citizenship of the UK, Australia, and Canada, and his love for the environment has stemmed directly from exploring these countries’ beautiful landscapes ⛰️ and the ocean that surrounds them. After the screening, we'll be speaking to Nick, as well Eleanor Church Lark Rise Pictures (XTrillion) and Avril Greenaway (Cleaner Seas Group®, Cleaner Seas Project®), so you can learn more about the plastic crisis and the positive work being done to tackle this global issue. You'll have the chance to speak to all of the panellists and other attendees during the networking session, with cocktails by Aluna Rum 🍸. ➡️ Swipe for the event details. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gxp5nfSX And we also have a special surprise for attendees! Stay tuned. This collaborative event is hosted by The Marine Diaries, EarthFlicks & Chill (x+why, Deej Phillips), and Scarlet Red Magazine. #London #Event #Screening #Ocean #Expedition #OceanPlastic #Adventure #ClimateChange #Sustainability #PlasticPollution #PlasticWaste #Microplastics #Sailing #eXXpedition #FilmScreening #Filmmaking #OceanScience #OceanResearch #PlasticResearch #OceanConservation
