Epic Games has launched Fab, it’s new unified digital content marketplace designed to simplify asset discovery, purchase, and sharing for developers. It brings together Epic’s four owned marketplaces and includes assets for Unreal Engine, Unity, and soon, Roblox and Minecraft. With high-quality assets from Quixel Megascans and other creators, Fab provides a streamlined, single destination for digital content. Developers can access a wide range of resources compatible across game engines, aiming to make world-building faster and more affordable. Fab’s launch marks Epic Games’s “first step toward a more accessible, interoperable #metaverse”. After Epic’s long battle with Apple about their controlling, walled garden, monopolistic approach with the App Store, it seems like they are creating a very similar model under the guise of accessibility and interoperability. In case it flew under your radar 👉 Epic Games launched Fab, a unified content marketplace (and game-changer for creators). 🔑 Key Takeaways The platform rolls various digital asset stores into one. You can discover, buy, sell, and share assets easily. Why does this matter❓ Fab simplifies access to a vast library of digital content across multiple engines. Research from Epic shows about 50% of active Unreal Engine projects use existing asset marketplaces. This makes content creation faster and cheaper. Here are key features of Fab: - Supports Unreal Engine, Unity (❗), and Unreal Editor for Fortnite. - Extensive library with over 17,000 Quixel Megascans available for free until the end of 2024. - Offers real-time 3D asset inspection for informed purchasing decisions. - Features varied licensing options, including Creative Commons. - Channels help find compatible content for different platforms. What's coming next? Epic plans to introduce assets for more game engines, including Roblox and Minecraft. By 2025, a portion of the Megascans library will be free for all users. This platform is a pivotal step for creators. 🎯 Epic Games is practicing what they preach as they help build and shape the #OpenMetaverse Engage with the community and start exploring Fab today. How will you leverage this resource in your projects?

🎉 Epic Games keeps raising the bar for creators, and the new Island Satisfaction tab in Creator Portal is another big step forward. Creators now have access to player sentiment data collected through post-game surveys. While only 1 in 500 plays triggers a survey for now, the feedback is invaluable for tracking how players feel about your island over time. Here’s what players are being asked: 🎮 Did you have fun in the last game? 📈 On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate the last game? 📊 Was the game “Way Too Easy,” “Just Right,” or “Way Too Difficult”? This data empowers creators to fine-tune gameplay, improve experiences, and ensure their maps resonate with audiences. It’s a critical tool for achieving long-term success in Fortnite, where understanding player preferences is key to standing out. The best part? Fortnite continues to invest in tools like this to help creators build thriving, data-informed experiences. It’s not just about creating islands—it’s about building better, smarter, and more sustainable worlds. #FortniteCreative #UEFN #GamingAnalytics #CreatorTools

In the past few weeks i was looking into Unreal Engine for Fortnite (UEFN) learning more about it and i managed to release my own game, The White Zone. UEFN made development quicker and easier by providing access to a wide range of props and default devices, which significantly sped up the process, while you can still create custom features using their programming language Verse or adding your custom assets. While some aspects of the engine are still a bit buggy, Epic Games is making consistent improvements, it's interesting to see how Fortnite is slowly transforming from just a battle royale game into a true metaverse. If you want to try The White Zone, you can access it through the Fortnite app: https://lnkd.in/eHAF7ByK

What if Future Trash, Inc could redefine the boundaries of creativity in user-generated content (UGC) and turn Fortnite into a platform for building original gaming universes? Right now, one of the biggest challenges in UGC is educating the audience that there's more than just the core game. Future Trash, Inc is tackling this head-on by developing new, unique IPs within Fortnite’s UEFN ecosystem transforming it from a battle royale powerhouse into a platform for diverse, standalone game experiences. That’s the problem Future Trash, Inc is solving. Led by CEO Kevin Marciano, the team has already created a hit with their flagship IP, FOAD, boasting 20 million unique players. Now, with $5 million in seed funding, they’re aiming to create 15 more games over the next year. By mastering UGC limitations and pushing the boundaries of creativity, they’re positioned to help players see Fortnite as more than just traditional Fortnite. Their goal is Redefine what UGC can achieve and help turn Fortnite into a multi-IP platform a potential billion-dollar transformation. If Future Trash cracks this code, could they be the driving force behind Fortnite's next evolution? 🎮 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐱 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 🎮 It’s something I’ve noticed time and time again, especially when exploring branded games on Roblox. They’re often loaded with features—packed to the brim—but there’s something missing. 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡. And that’s the thing—polish isn’t about cramming in more features or getting the copy perfect. It’s about how your game feels. It’s the difference between just playing a game and being fully immersed in one. ⚽ I remember a soccer game I used to play on Roblox called MPS. Every time I kicked the ball, it wasn’t just an action; it felt right. You could almost feel the impact in your mind. That’s polish—when the mechanics and design are so well-crafted that they inspire a real feeling in the player. At EpicStudios.gg, we don’t just make games. We craft experiences. Our focus is always on building immersive, player-first games that keep players coming back—not just because of the features, but because of the feeling they get when they play. ✨ Polish turns a good game into an unforgettable one. ✨ And just for good measure, here's a picture of an empty baseplate - exactly what your unpolished game would feel like... #Roblox #Metaverse

What's the revenue on a Roblox game? Why does a typical Roblox game collapse so quickly? Is there any way to build a sustainable business on Roblox? Those are the questions raised by the Deconstructor of Fun Slack community. Kudos to Andrew Rose who bravely joined the podcast to discuss them and talk about how Voldex is thriving on the platform. Few key points I got from our discussion... 🧠 Rethinkg game genres and categories. What works outside Roblox doesn't necessarily work on Roblox. 📣 Engage with players through Discord, gather real-time feedback, and integrate player suggestions into game updates. 🎮 The single most important element when developing games for multiple platforms (Xbox, PlayStation, and VR) is a flexible approach to UI/UX design. 📦 Focus on in-game experiences rather than standalone branded environments. Maintaining authenticity is vital with brand integrations. 🎨 When developing for Roblox, there's more tolerance for imperfections. This tolerance allows for rapid iteration and experimentation.
