How much is it going to cost a New Zealand business to become an Accredited Employer? Visa application fees are a necessary expense when dealing with Immigration New Zealand. The previous work visa scheme placed most of the expense on the migrant. However, the current Accredited Employer work visa scheme places part of the burden on the New Zealand business. For most New Zealand businesses, before offering a role to a migrant, at a minimum, they must submit two separate applications with Immigration NZ: 1) An Accreditation application; and 2) A Job Check application. Each of these applications comes with a cost. Immigration New Zealand's Accreditation application fees will depend on the type of accreditation you are seeking - Standard, High-volume OR Controlling third party. Whereas the Job check application fee is fixed and is the same whether you are seeking to fill 1 vacancy or 100 vacancies in a single job check application. Note that different roles will require separate job checks. Once a job check is approved - the applicant (or the migrant) will need to submit their own Accredited Employer Work Visa application (the third step in the process). This comes at cost of $1540NZD. Given the significant financial impact on your business, it is important to get things right, the first time. #ImmigrationNZ #AccreditedEmployers #TheMigrationist #NZimmigrationlawyer #NZImmigration

Immigration Update - Green List roles prioritised Good news! Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has implemented a new initiative to prioritise Job Checks and Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) applications for Green List roles. This strategic move by INZ aims to expedite the fulfilment of essential skill gaps across various sectors. When it comes to Job Checks, you may not be required to advertise Green List roles, as only a select number of roles must be advertised for up to 21 days and engagement with Work and Income. If your workers have the qualifications, registration, or experience required on their Green List role, they may be eligible for immediate residency or after two years of working in New Zealand. Residence applications under this pathway are already prioritised. This opportunity not only facilitates talent acquisition and retention but also provides your workers a clear pathway to long-term settlement. We are already underway confirming many Kiwi employers staff eligibility for Green List residence and can support with international recruitment for roles in this list and beyond.
