Coaching Skills for Everyday Life: The Art of Partnering Partnership isn’t just for coaching—it’s a skill that can transform how we navigate relationships in everyday life. Whether in the workplace, at home, or with friends, the ability to approach conversations as equals fosters trust, collaboration, and deeper connections. At its heart, partnering means recognizing this truth: 🔹You are the expert of your life, and so is the other person. When we honor this mutual expertise, we create space for others to feel seen, heard, and empowered. What Does Partnering Look Like? 🔹Asking questions to understand someone’s perspective instead of assuming you know. 🔹Listening deeply, even through moments of silence, to allow insights to emerge. 🔹Encouraging ownership by asking, “What feels most important to you right now?” What Happens When We Don’t Partner? Sometimes, despite good intentions, we unintentionally tip the balance. It might look like: 🔹Finishing someone’s sentences instead of letting their thoughts fully unfold. 🔹Jumping into problem-solving without acknowledging their emotions. 🔹Steering conversations toward what you think is best, rather than staying curious. These moments shift the dynamic from collaboration to control, leaving others feeling unheard. How to Practice Partnership 1️⃣Pause and Listen: Create space for others to express themselves fully. 2️⃣Ask Open Questions: Shift from “Don’t you think…?” to “What feels right for you?” 3️⃣Offer Without Assuming: Before sharing advice, ask, “Would it help if I offered a thought?” 4️⃣Empower Autonomy: Celebrate others taking ownership of their decisions and emotions. Why It Matters True partnership honors the dignity and intelligence of those around us. Whether in a professional setting or personal conversation, this approach strengthens relationships and builds mutual respect. 💭 Reflection: What could shift in your next conversation if you focused on partnering instead of problem-solving?

🌟 Why Coaches Thrive When We Collaborate 🌟 Coaching is often seen as a solo endeavor—a space where we pour our energy, expertise, and heart into helping others transform. But here’s the truth: even the best coaches need other coaches. When we come together as a community to share wisdom, strategies, and yes—even business referrals—we create something truly powerful. ✅ Fresh Perspectives: Talking with other coaches sparks innovation and helps us see new possibilities for our clients. ✅ Shared Growth: We lift each other up by exchanging tools, techniques, and lessons learned from the field. ✅ Mutual Support: Coaching can be deeply fulfilling, but also demanding. A supportive network helps us stay grounded and inspired. ✅ Business Opportunities: Referring clients to other coaches who are better aligned for specific needs is not competition—it’s good business and great service. This is why I've been hosting "Coaches in Conversation," for 2.5 years and cultivated a space for coaches to connect, collaborate, and elevate each other. 🗓 Date: Wednesday Jan 15th ⏰ Time: 4 pm EST 📍 Where: Zoom Registration in comments! We’ll explore..... How to share insights that transform coaching practices. Ways to grow our businesses through authentic collaboration and referrals. Creating a ripple effect of impact by working together. Let’s move beyond competition and into collaboration. It’s time we practice what we preach by building strong, supportive relationships within our own profession. 🎤 Whether you’re a seasoned coach or just starting out, your voice and experience matter. Let’s connect, share, and create a movement of collective wisdom. Tag a fellow coach you admire—they deserve to be part of this conversation! 💬

You have some friends who are just like you and that’s the reason why there are your friend Then there are some friends who are very different from you and that’s the reason why they are your friend I am very happy to have a friend for 40 years who can do things that I can’t. Who I learn from. Michelle Wiesman and I have shared 12 years of the same education and classes, but that had a very different result for both of us. I do not know an entrepreneur that is more structured and organized and intentional about where she spends her time on and what results she wants. If you are looking for executive coaching; just have a session with Michelle Wiesman or somebody from her company Flipmonday Yes, she can help with organizational structures, strategy, how to delegate, how to address company culture etc. etc.….. but she is also one of the only people I know that can make that practical for you on a day to day basis! And with practical I mean helping you with “if this is your strategy and this is what you should focus on….”; This is how you should organize your day; This is how you should organize your work and home life to do lists; This is how you should deal with the endless stream of emails; This is how to keep track of your goals every day and week; This is how you use Outlook and OneNote properly well to keep track!” And that is what I think everybody can use; sitting with somebody and getting organized a bit once in a while. Flipmonday has also trained many team members at ImpactBuying in "getting grip on their time". It is also a very practical training how to use existing tools to organize your work and make progress. #gettingorganizedforcreatives #executivecoaching

What’s Your Secret to Staying on Schedule? Or is it something you’re still working on mastering? Recently, someone reached out to me with a great question: they noticed how consistently I post videos and engage on LinkedIn, even while balancing my responsibilities as a coach, and team leader. Their curiosity got me thinking—it’s not easy to maintain a rhythm, but the principles I follow make it possible and even enjoyable. I’ve built my daily routines and coaching approach around two books that have had a big impact on my career: The One Thing and The Millionaire Real Estate Agent (MREA). From The One Thing, I’ve adopted the habit of time-blocking. Just like how meetings with clients or showings are prioritized, I set aside dedicated blocks for content creation and engagement. It’s a non-negotiable appointment on my calendar. This focus on the “one thing” that moves the needle each day has transformed my productivity and helped me achieve the consistency I strive for. In my coaching, I often highlight these same strategies, showing agents how purposeful time-blocking and a lead-generation mindset (as outlined in MREA) can drive real results. It’s about embracing the tasks that add the most value and approaching them with intention. By setting time aside for these priorities, I can show up here on LinkedIn regularly, sharing insights and helping others who want to grow their business. So, I’ll ask you: what do you do to stay on track with your goals? Is it time-blocking, a specific tool, or maybe a morning routine that helps you stay focused? Or, if you’re looking to build a more structured schedule, I’d be glad to help with any questions. Let’s grow together!

VIRTUAL COACH LED EVENT - 9am 6th November 2024 ⭐️ NAVIGATING DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS NOVA Members & Guests are invited to join us for our first virtual coaching event where you and your peers will learn more information on how to approach and make difficult conversations happen in the workplace. We all have situations where what we want to say feels awkward or uncomfortable, to the extent that we want to avoid these conversations. It just feels too risky, or too hard, or we are just unable to say what needs to be said. This can be really limiting and can also have career-limiting implications in the future, or can turn a good team or relationship into something tense and uncomfortable, or worse. It can mean that someone else is really held back, as you couldn’t address an issue or give some feedback or share some information. In this session, we will explore - • steps and techniques you can work with • getting insight into what is really holding you back from the conversation • framing your needs so someone else can hear • understanding what might be going on for the other party • evaluating your risk and minimising that • creating a manageable plan for yourself to tackle what needs to be said Come with examples and stories, we will use whatever you bring in the group, or you can work on it privately. Everything in the group will remain confidential so you and others can feel completely safe. You will be surprised at how much others experience the same kinds of inhibitions and fears as you! In your NOVA peer community, everything will feel safe and accepted. We share the same kinds of experience. Your Coach facilitator, Frances White has 35 years experience running these workshops and has worked with hundreds of other leaders on their similar situations, she will walk you all through some processes and ideas that you can take away.

Here’s why I love coaching in-person, and why I’ll fly wherever you are for our sessions ✈️ 1. A big part of my methodology centres around improving the way people come across and the way they’re perceived by others. No matter what industry you’re in, how many people you interact with or how long you’ve been in your respective field, we all have blind spots. In-person sessions allow me to get a clearer sense of people’s energy, their communication style, and what really makes them tick. It also allows me to uncover limiting beliefs faster and to challenge perspectives and opinions. In-person sessions are naturally more frank and our body language is a big part of how we communicate. When sitting next to someone or across them, I’m able to observe things that add to my understanding of their motivation, their worries, concerns and fears. I get to know people deeply and they get to know me. It becomes clearer and clearer that we’re working together; collaboratively to achieve people’s biggest personal and professional goals. 2. Trust is way easier to build when in proximity of others, and high-performance coaching requires high levels of trust due to the nature of the work we do. The deeper we dig, the more we unlock new layers of trust. 3. It’s way more fun to share a hot drink with someone while working on exciting challenges and endless opportunities. 4. The buzz you feel after an in-person session is something you can carry with you for weeks. The energy you feel after gives you a push of motivation. Suddenly, things feel so much more possible. P.S The photo is from a recent business trip to London where I also had a fantastic session in person with one of my coachees at The Hoxton! #embraceyourprocess

🌟 Heartfelt Coaching Journey: Navigating Emotions and Building Connections 🌟 In a recent coaching session, I had the honor of sharing a deeply meaningful conversation with a client who opened up about feeling disconnected and disheartened while visiting an unfamiliar office. The client bravely shared their struggles with low productivity and a lack of enthusiasm in this new environment, expressing how different it felt from their usual workplace and the emotional toll it took on them. A significant part of our discussion centered around the client's apprehension about talking to their manager regarding their career aspirations and the possibility of moving up to the next level. The client voiced concerns about being judged, feeling under pressure, and not wanting to put their manager in an uncomfortable position by bringing up the topic. The insights gained from our session highlighted the importance of self-reflection, open communication, and personal growth. By embracing self-responsibility and proactive dialogue, the client is now better equipped to face their emotional challenges with renewed determination and a positive outlook. The journey of overcoming emotional obstacles and promoting open dialogue serves as a valuable lesson for anyone navigating similar professional crossroads. Through self-improvement and honest conversations with supervisors, individuals can tackle challenges with confidence, driving their own professional development. As we delve deeper into workplace emotions and transparent communication, it is crucial to acknowledge the transformative power of self-empowerment and proactive dialogues. This coaching experience showcases the impact of courageously addressing emotional hurdles and embracing open communication, leading to personal and professional growth in the workplace. #CoachingJourney #PersonalGrowth #EmotionalWellness #OpenCommunication #SelfEmpowerment

In the latest episode of Ideas to Invoices, Aaron Thweatt, founder of Respark Coaching, shares his belief that managing conversations effectively is the most powerful skill set one can learn. According to Thweatt, this skill drives multiple facets of life and work, and the most crucial conversation is the one with oneself. With virtual workspaces come unique challenges, but Thweatt suggests building a culture that values emotional intelligence (EQ) and training managers to handle difficult conversations effectively. By doing so, we can create a workplace that fosters healthy communication and ultimately leads to success. Honestly, one of the primary reasons I got into personal coaching is because I have a low tolerance for surface-level conversation. 🤷♂️ In coaching, a space is created where people feel safe enough to get real and talk about how their life is really going. I've always craved this depth of connection, as many coaches do. Even though coaches are trained how to create a space to foster that authentic connection, we're trained to do this specifically to support and empower the other person. We don't necessarily have the tools or context to facilitate this depth of connection in spaces outside of coaching: team meetings, workplace gatherings, dinner with friends, networking events, Meetup events, etc. When I first experienced an Authentic Relating event, I realized how many conditions are placed on us in social situations that limit our ability to relax, open up, and walk away feeling energized. It opened my eyes to the possibility of facilitating deep connections in ANY kind of setting, with any group of people. ART International hosts various levels of training around the world, and my friends and I have partnered with them to bring the first-ever Level 1 training to the Midwest (Madison)! It will be an immersive weekend experience on Oct 5-6th, roughly 9:30am-7:30pm each day. We have an awesome group of people signed up already and it's bound to be a powerful experience. I'll leave a link in the comments with more details, but please DM me if you're interested and I'll be happy to share more about my experience and what to expect.

I've always loved my one-to-ones with my managers. Why? Reflecting back, meetings with my managers have been one of the most significant elements in my career development. They were my opportunities to talk about myself, my projects, and how I could be successful in what I do. I approached these meetings with a mindset focused on growth and development, using them as opportunities to get the right help, resources, and necessary sign-offs. I was generally fortunate with my bosses, they were great coaches. How could I tell? Mainly because they did 3 main things: 💬 They made me think before they answered my questions; 🌟 They believed in me, assuring me they always had my back; 🧑🎓 I never felt judged, and my ideas were always acknowledged. I loved that a simple yet powerful question could dramatically shift my thinking. For example: "Why do you think this is happening?" "How are you planning to approach this?" "What do you think about this?" Typically, managers only get about 30 minutes on average with their direct reports, which is often too short and usually spent on operational updates. To ensure you're focusing on the right things that will actually move the needle, here are some powerful questions to add a coaching spin to your one-to-ones: 🎯 To set a focus and a goal: "Where do you need my help the most right now?" "Out of all your projects, which one do you want to focus on today?" "What would you like to get out of this meeting?" "I know you're working on XYZ, where is my input most needed?" You don't need a complete update on what they accomplished during the week (you should be able to see that in your CRM/systems, etc.) Instead, try to focus on one improvement point at a time 💪🏼 📝 Capture what you discussed (ideally, ask them to send you a recap), and for the next one-to-one, ask them: "What happened since we last met?" "What did you do to overcome/learn/fix XYZ?" "Where else do you need my input?" When coaching, it's very important to avoid pushing your own agenda and being a hero by knowing-it-all and rescuing them; Otherwise, they will not be learning and might expect you to drive the meeting and be simply passive. I'm curious, how much coaching do you incorporate into your interactions with your employees? And what obstacles do you face? #101s #coaching #employeecoaching #effectiveonetoones
