The National WWII Museum’s Post

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday to commemorate Veterans Day! We were honored to welcome 11 WWII veterans to campus as we celebrated their service and sacrifice. It was also a privilege to partner with the City of New Orleans and Mayor's Military Advisory Committee to recognize city leader and retired Marine Joe Threat as Veteran of the Year. Veterans Day also marked the opening of our latest special exhibition, Fighting for the Right to Fight: African American Experiences in World War II. Join us for the Opening Reception on Saturday, November 16, to learn more about this groundbreaking exhibit’s development and content from its curators.
