Innovation is a lifeline during tough times 🚀 - join our Magnetic Innovation Festival in March 🎉 . Details below. In the fast-paced world of business, innovation is not just a (sometimes over used) buzzword but a critical survival tool. We can't cost-cut our way out of a tough economic climate, instead we must focus on both controlling overheads AND growth. In a recent study we found that a large proportion of c-suite executives are going to be doubling down on innovation in the next 12 months, so what can they learn from startups? Startups, with their agility, customer-centric approach, and openness to change, have become beacons of innovation, challenging established players and reshaping markets. PLCs are often weighed down by their size and legacy systems, and can struggle to keep pace with the rapid changes in customer expectations and technological advancements. However, by adopting 3 of the strategies that make startups thrive, PLCs can reinvent themselves, ensuring longevity and continued relevance in an ever-evolving landscape. 💡 One - Agility and the willingness to pivot Startups operate in a constant state of flux, which allows them to quickly respond to market changes or customer feedback. This agility is something PLCs can learn from. For instance, adopting lean methodologies to streamline processes and decision-making can help PLCs become more responsive. Embracing a culture of experimentation and accepting failure as a stepping stone to innovation can also foster agility. 💡 Two - Customer-centric innovation Startups excel at keeping their finger on the pulse of customer needs, often tailoring their offerings to provide personalised solutions. PLCs can emulate this approach by investing in customer research and feedback mechanisms to better understand and anticipate customer needs. Creating small cross-functional teams focused on customer experience can ensure that customer-centricity is at the heart of the innovation process. 💡 Three - Fostering an innovation ecosystem Startups often operate in vibrant ecosystems that encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and networking. PLCs can replicate this by building partnerships with startups, academia, and other stakeholders. Establishing innovation hubs or incubators can also help in nurturing new ideas and technologies within the organisation. Starting Strong! Last week Innovate Island ran a fantastic event - "Starting Strong" at Killeavy castle. You can see the five grinning leaders and some of our reflections in the photo/article linked below. The grins were real, and lasted from morning til late-night. My name badge did its own trip around the room; there were so many hugs for 1st time in-person meetings of long term ZOOM-friends. We DIVED in, explored and shared how we might empower our island-wide innovation ecosystem. If that sounds ambitious, I think the people and the mix in the room are up to it. 🚀 How do you drive Innovation in your company? 🚀   A few months back, we embarked on a journey with a simple observation: at Allianz Technology we firmly believe that innovation thrives on collective effort, where each individual is empowered to contribute. But what if we could take a step further and tap into the global market for best practices to explore innovation?   Let me introduce you to SHAKE'IT, a remarkable 2-day innovation event we hosted this week at the heart of Paris, at one of the world's largest start-up campuses STATION F! Our mission was clear: catalyze impactful innovation through startup and talent collaboration.   15 Allianz Technology talents from all around the globe seized the opportunity to collaborate with 7 startups. Together, they explored and created use cases for harnessing cutting-edge technologies tailored for the insurance industry #GenAI, #DataAnalytics, #Cloudification, #ITStability.   We had the privilege to welcome two captivating speakers: Guillaume Bour (Mistral AI) and Jan C.
