Five Ideas how to over-communicate your Core Values as you answer Clarity Question 2 of 6, "How do we behave?": 1. Retell 2-3 of the core stories that have shaped the values. (Real example: The CEO of Turner Furniture told me about personally driving furniture into a hurricane for a family in need.) 2. Conduct shout-outs at an all-hands meeting for those exemplifying the values. (Real example: The executive team of eHouse takes turns awarding these so they can share the burden.) 3. During onboarding, have the first conversation be about why you exist and how the values are alive and meaningful. 4. To give more language around the values, answer these 3 questions live for everyone: A. What is it? B. What is it not? C. Why is it important?" 5. Give a token or memento that symbolizes the culture. (Real example: C12 gave me a small buffalo as a reminder of the importance of Buffalo Culture.)
