Still on #rememberingherbertwigwe Death is the only existential truth, we hate to tell ourselves but eventually compelled to do and accept. It is low quality thinking, to be able to choose how we live, but not be able to choose how we die. How death happens to us all can be different and not within our control, but choosing how we die is as good a choice like choosing how we live. The Wigwes' choosed how they died, the tributes and eulogies received, as I sat close to the front pews and rolls were all confessions of people who saw them lived Intentionally. Being intentionally about how you would be remembered, through the good works already done, is an automatic plan to choosing how one desires to die. Truly, how we live now is how we die eventually. If you live so intentionally, causing impacts and solving lots of problems, while advancing humanity, like Dr. Herbert Wigwe did, then you are already by this intentionally living, choosed how you will die. How death will happen to us is uncertain and unknown, but how you choose to die, is our making, beginning with how we are living now. The day we were all born, was the same minute our race to dying started, what we all do in between, is how we all choosed to die. May will all die well, because we already like choosed to Live well, amen. To a greater becoming... #IamSignature

Good Morning ☀️ Happy Halloween October 31 Our relationship with a Higher Power “Ongoing recovery is dependent on our relationship with a loving God who cares for us and will do for us what we find impossible to do for ourselves.” Basic Text, p. 99 ––––=–––– Working the Twelve Steps of Narcotics Anonymous gives us a fresh start in life and some guidance for living in the world. But the steps are more than a fresh start. When we do our best to work the steps, we develop a relationship with our personal Higher Power. In the Third Step, we decide to allow a loving God to influence our lives. Much of the courage, trust, and willingness we need to continue through the succeeding steps comes from this decision. In the Seventh Step, we go even further by asking this Higher Power to change our lives. The Eleventh Step is a way for us to improve the relationship. Recovery is a process of growth and change in which our lives are renewed. The Twelve Steps are the roadmap, the specific directions we take in order to continue in recovery. But the support we need to proceed with each step comes from our faith in a Higher Power, the belief that all will be well. Faith gives us courage to act. Each step we work is supported by our relationship with a loving God. ––––=–––– Just for today: I will remember that the source of my courage and willingness is my relationship with my Higher Power. #enlightenment #wedorecover

Dr. Jones, or Indiana as his friends referred to him, was correct: we are going to die. It is an universal and natural part of life, so the earlier and deeper we can engage and accept Death, the better prepared we’ll be when that moment arrives. How are you exploring a relationship with death in your own life? Do you have any daily rituals or practices that help you accept your own mortality? What does death mean to you? What are your afterlife beliefs? Do you get curious about any death anxiety you might experience? Do you work with your dreams or visions that are death related, including end of life dreams and visions? How do you navigate grief and loss? What are your end of life plans or wishes? As a Thanatologist, these are some of the areas that we co-create and co-curate for people who are proactively exploring a deeper relationship with death and grief in their lives.
