Thanks Donald Juzwishin Important article. "With a province-wide healthcare delivery system, Alberta achieved a reduction in administrative costs to around 2.7% compared to 4.3% on average for other provinces in 2021/22,2 though Nova Scotia reported no change. Surgical waiting times were stable in one study shortly after Alberta’s merger. Areas showing improvement in clinical outcomes in Alberta tended to be those for which there had been focused province-wide efforts towards addressing specific priorities. Qualitative results suggested both Alberta and PEI succeeded in rationalizing services in their restructuring, and Alberta was thought to have improved ability to integrate and coordinate a broad range of health services along with a better focus on health promotion." https://lnkd.in/e8iCT9hq Adriana LaGrange ---

The designers have to understand MELTED Away as in nurses caught between cost cutting DRG and profit focused hospitals shaping fewer to share the complexity and then resulting in losses of the experienced to complete the accelerating cycle of decline. The same cycles are operated against basic health access delivery team members. The design is worst for small and medium size practices and hospitals and in 2621 counties with concentrations of the worst public and private health insurance designs. MELTED away workforce where America is growing fastest, where the majority of Americans are most behind, for the great majority of basic health access services, and for nurses and others delivering care in hospitals has gone on 40 years too long.
If we are to solve the dire dilemma in American health care, our approach will have to be radically different from those we’ve taken to date. https://ow.ly/VFPs50R8j7p

You couldn’t make it up. In a climate where there are insufficient clinical staff to tackle the back log when clinical staff working conditions are a cause of low morale and lack of willingness to work beyond their contracted time? Let’s be clear about this. Clinical staff largely already work longer hours than they are paid for. Talk about kicking the very people working hard to save lives.
The majority of health leaders are considering cutting clinical and non-clinical staff to balance their books, a new survey has found – with warnings this could hinder efforts to tackle NHS waiting lists.

A month ago, the Guardian rated the American healthcare system dead last among 10 countries. As an interventional pain management physician, I see the impact every day. Here are three ways we can clearly improve it: 1. Implement Universal Healthcare: With around 30 million Americans uninsured, making healthcare accessible to everyone could transform lives. 2. Reduce Healthcare Costs: The U.S. spends nearly twice as much on healthcare per capita as other high-income countries. We need to address these soaring costs, especially focusing on operating more efficiently. 3. Invest in Preventive Care: Chronic pain affects over 50 million adults in the U.S. Focusing on prevention could alleviate suffering and reduce long-term expenses. We have a long road ahead, but these steps could make a real difference. What are your thoughts? https://lnkd.in/g9h255ar
