🥳 Coming soon: The chapter "Communities of Hospitality as a Democratic Governance Model for Host-Guest Interactions", which I wrote together with Ivana Volic and Hakan Shearer Demir, PhD
Independent Consultant (International & Intercultural Management + Displacement Governance -Migrants & Refugees + Cultural Heritage) Adjunct Faculty - Course on Displacement and Integration in the 21st century
Coming soon: The chapter "Communities of Hospitality as a Democratic Governance Model for Host-Guest Interactions", which I wrote together with Ivana Volic and Prosper Wanner in the forthcoming book "The Future of Cultural Tourism", explores how communities can create more democratic tourism experiences. In this chapter we examine host-guest relationships and #CulturalRights for all visitors and inhabitants, including #refugees and #migrants. Our chapter looks at community-led tourism management grounded in a municipalist approach. We focus on practical ways to make cultural tourism more inclusive through local #SelfManagement, and explore genuine mutual exchanges as well as democratic and egalitarian relationships through #CommunitiesofHospitality. The book explores how #CulturalTourism will evolve globally through new governance models, tourist experiences, and technological innovations, and examines future scenarios for the sector. Coming in April – see the link to preorder to learn more. A harmonized destination, which Bloom Consulting likes to call a #LovedDestination, ensures that a shared tourism strategy aligns with the #CentralIdea and vision of the #PlaceBrand, developed by and for its residents. This approach is built on four key pillars: willingness, emotion, experience, and top-of-mind recognition. These are crucial to fostering a holistic interaction between residents and visitors before, during, and after their stay.
