You’re hosting your first large scale ticketed event. It’s only natural to worry how successful sales will be! In one sense you don’t want to risk investing in a larger venue, then on the other hand you don’t want to max out capacity & limit your audience What to do? Move forward with a space which enables you to play around with layouts & breakouts. This will give you the flexibility to move goal posts Start with cabaret in mind - maxed out in cabaret for your conference? No problem, switch to theatre style….maxing out at theatre? Amazing congrats! You’re gonna need a bigger venue next year 😉 #corporateevents #venuefinding

Everybody belongs in Theatre. We believe theatre is more than the magic of live performance—it’s about creating a space for connection, creativity, and community, free from barriers, especially when it comes to cost. That’s why we’re proud to offer Pay What You Decide (PWYD) tickets. 🌟 How it works: PWYD tickets let you choose the price that works for you, starting at just £5. Whether you’re a lifelong theatre lover or taking your first step into the world of live performance, PWYD makes it easier to explore something new, without financial worry. 🌟 For Our Local Community: Prescot residents (L34 and L35 postcodes) have exclusive access to additional PWYD tickets—a special way of saying thank you to the community we call home. 🌟 Pay It Forward: If you can, consider paying a little extra for your ticket. It’s a simple way to pay it forward, helping to cover the cost for someone who might not otherwise be able to attend. Your generosity makes theatre accessible for all. Shakespeare North Playhouse is more than a stage. It’s a home for stories, a place to belong, and a celebration of shared experiences. Whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, we hope you leave with memories to cherish and a connection to something bigger. #AccessibleTheatre #PayWhatYouDecide #PayItForward #CommunityImpact #LivePerformance

🎭 British theatres offer outstanding productions at exceptional value. While the cost of attending the theatre sparks lively discussion, focusing exclusively on prices often misses the bigger picture. 💷 What does the data tell us? According to UK Theatre, the majority of tickets sold in regional theatres cost under £35, with 99.9% priced below £100. Even in commercial venues, 65% of all tickets sold for less than £45. Furthermore, since 2019, the average ticket price at UK Theatre venues has decreased by 5% in real terms, failing to keep pace with inflation. A thriving theatre plays a pivotal role in place-making, drawing people to local high streets, boosting tourism and driving substantial economic benefits. For every £1 spent on a theatre ticket, an additional £1.40 is generated within the local economy. However, their future depends on bold action. Increased public investment, innovative policies and an honest dialogue about ticket pricing are critical to sustaining and growing this invaluable sector. Read more:

Lengthy entry queues at events often frustrate attendees, resulting in negative feedback before the entertainment has even begun. I📣 Why booking tickets is vital when supporting local theatre and small touring companies 📣 Theatres will usually agree to a box office split with the theatre company to perform in their venue. With larger companies, this can be a lot easier as they have already established themselves within the industry. However for smaller companies, so much relies on them being able to fill those seats. Not only is it to get audiences to come and see the show, but it’s months of hard work and sacrifices too. Ticket sales can be make or break for smaller companies because if they can’t prove they will fill seats, the performance can be cancelled. That being said, booking may not always be feasible if your plans are likely to change ect. Luckily, a lot of theatres have now introduce a ticket protection scheme so that you are able to be fully refunded if you are unable to attend or sell your tickets. So if you are planning on coming to see a local show, or support a small up and coming company, please consider booking because it makes all the difference! 🤍 That being said, there are still a few tickets left for our show at Barbican Theatre Plymouth tonight at 7:30! https://lnkd.in/em_jJuhF #localarts #localtheatre #theatrecompanies #booking #supportlocalart #supportsouthwesttalent #newwriting #plymouth #plymoutharts #smallbuisnesses Plymouth Culture IGNITE PLYMFUTURES University of Plymouth Alumni Marjon Futures (Careers and Employability Team) Theatre Royal Plymouth
