Dementia is the UK’s biggest health and social care crisis – 1.4 million people are expected to be diagnosed by 2040. This Christmas time, we need your help to reach more people like those who attend our groups in Sedgemoor Care Home and Liverpool Central Library. Every penny makes a difference and we'll be using your donation to recruit, train and support volunteers and provide Shared Reading resources. Find out more: https://ow.ly/M4jr50UxjOX

"You don’t ever fib with another human being. It’s lying." — Naomi Feil Naomi taught us that honesty builds trust, even with older adults experiencing cognitive decline. Validation principles encourage caregivers to follow the reality of the person they’re caring for rather than redirecting or misleading. This approach fosters deeper relationships and greater understanding. Your donation ensures that caregivers everywhere learn this vital principle. Donate today to help us spread trust and connection. https://lnkd.in/ePTQZNtp

Raising Awareness & Funds for EDS 🌟 Today, I'm spotlighting a cause close to our hearts: EDS UK, a lifeline for those touched by Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. One of our own, Imogen, has courageously shared her journey with Classical EDS, enlightening us on the vital support this charity provides. Diagnosed at 25 after years of nebulous symptoms, Imogen's resilience is a beacon of hope. EDS challenges her daily, affecting work and well-being. Discovering mindfulness and a remote work model, she bravely navigates her condition with tenacity. What truly propels her forward is a remarkable work family, offering unwavering backing on tough days. This solidarity is power! Yet, it's EDS UK's pivotal role in raising awareness and fostering a supportive community that underlines the urgency of our fundraiser. This charity champions education and research, illuminating a path for those affected by EDS. For Imogen, and countless others, EDS UK is more than a charity; it's a network of understanding and support amidst the isolation chronic illness can bring. Join us in amplifying their mission. Your contribution can spark change and embody the very essence of community and compassion we cherish. #EDSAwareness #CharitySupport #TogetherStronger 🦓🤲🏼💚

Today, we are thrilled to launch our fundraising campaign for Willow Rebloom, the first Mother-Baby Unit in the U.S.dedicated to helping mothers experiencing perinatal mental health challenges. 💕 Why It Matters: 1 in 5 mothers faces Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), and yet so many go without the care they need. Currently, there are no inpatient facilities in the U.S. that allow mothers to heal alongside their babies. This is a gap we are determined to close—together. Your Impact: ✨ Every dollar brings us closer to transforming maternal mental health care in Arizona and across the nation. 💡 Here’s How You Can Help: ✔️ Donate: Visit our campaign page https://lnkd.in/gWVcPxv8 and give what you can. ✔️ Share: Spread the word—tag your friends and share this post! ✔️ Get Involved: Partner with us to change lives. Together, we can rewrite the story for mothers and babies. Let’s show them they’re not alone. 💖 📢 Donate now: https://lnkd.in/gWVcPxv8 #WillowRebloom #FundraisingForMoms #MaternalMentalHealth #CommunitySupport

One of the most powerful things an organization can do is listen deeply to its community—donors, volunteers, and those directly impacted by its mission. Over the past five months, through Ember 2 Action, Tasha Van Vlack and I had the privilege of working with Move for Life Foundation, a passionate organization dedicated to organ donation awareness and supporting transplant recipients to live healthy lives. While we accomplished big things—raising additional funds, expanding their donor base, and engaging more volunteers—the most inspiring part of this journey was seeing the impact of truly listening to the community. Through conversations with volunteers and families, we uncovered a critical need: more support for Saskatchewan families facing the significant financial and emotional burden of out-of-province travel for their children’s transplants. These insights led Move for Life to take action and establish the Saskatchewan Family Grant Fund, designed to help cover travel and accommodation expenses for families during these difficult times. This is what happens when organizations embrace their community’s voice. Move for Life took that feedback, remained nimble, and is now filling a vital gap for rural transplant families. I'm proud to have played a role in helping this organization make such an impactful commitment to the people they serve. When we listen to our communities, we can accomplish so much more together. #CommunityEngagement #CommunityFirst #ListeningMatters #SocialImpact #MoveForLife

Last Friday, Jo took on her biggest challenge yet—a Sponsored Silence. As a Recovery Cymru member turned peer team member, Jo works weekends to keep our Recovery Centre open 365 days a year. She’s dedicated to creating safe spaces where people feel heard, understood, and free from stigma. But staying silent? That was a whole new challenge for her. Jo said: "It taught me there's so much more to supporting people than what I can say to them. It comes down to body language and emotion as much as words. It also taught me how much only listening can mean to someone – to really hear them. I'm going to be a lot more conscious of what I say in the future and when!" Jo’s silence is a powerful reminder of how much stigma can be broken through listening, connection, and understanding. Your donation makes it possible for Jo and our peer team to continue creating these safe, stigma-free spaces for recovery. Through the BigGive, every £1 you donate is doubled. Your £10 becomes £20, your £40 becomes £80. Together, we can fight stigma and support recovery—but time is running out. Donate before midday tomorrow: https://lnkd.in/ew9adGTX #RecoveryCymru #BigGiveChallenge #SwipeOutStigma #SupportingRecovery

Recognize a Stroke with FAST: F - Face: Is it drooping on one side? A - Arms: Can the person raise both arms, or is one arm weak? S - Speech: Is speech slurred or strange? Share this information with your colleagues, friends, and family to help raise awareness and potentially save lives. You can also support our participation in the Ride for Heart by donating.
