🏨 Recently attended an event and booked my room directly with the hotel via a booking form. 📝 Check-in process – the usual please sign here and here.. my full name was spelled wrong, departure date was wrong, amount of people staying wrong, my email was missing (and I was not asked to provide one). Essentially, all the data about my stay was inaccurate. We keep talking about the importance of Book Direct but let's be honest, if I had booked my room via the "forBidden.com" website the data collected would probably be more accurate 🫣 Regardless of the source, the fact is, overlooking data opportunities diminishes valuable insights. And as we discuss OTAs holding data hostage, let's not forget the importance of our own data accuracy📊 After Net Affinity Revenue Summit, few people have reached out to me asking about #revenuemanagement systems. My advice💡 "Whatever you do , make sure you using every opportunity to capture good quality data; then have a good system to compile the data collected , and most importantly.. give your Revenue Manager time to analyze and translate the data into powerful insights" 📈💰 #DataQuality #HotelIndustry #revenuemanagement #bookdirect #RevenueEverywhere
