Can't believe it's been a decade since I landed my first job! 🎉 Reflecting on the journey, it's been a whirlwind of learning and growth. As a fresh graduate, I was clueless, but here are a few takeaways I've gathered along the way that I'd love to share: 1. Embrace Technological Evolution: The evolution of tools over the years has been mind-blowing. Staying updated with the latest tools can significantly enhance your productivity and efficiency. 2. Navigating Work Realities: Work life isn't always smooth sailing. There are good days and not-so-good days. Embrace the uncertainty and move forward. 3. Prioritize and Adapt: As you navigate through various stages of your career and life journey, continuously reassess and adjust your priorities and boundaries. 4. Nurture Connections: Your colleagues are more than just coworkers; they're your support system. Take the time to connect, listen, and share smiles. It's these connections that make the journey worthwhile. #worklifejourney

Reflecting on a challenging chapter in my career… I’d spent two years dedicated to my last company, immersing myself in two major projects, learning the business inside out, and building strong relationships along the way. I was excited when I was recommended by the Managing Director for a new project—it felt like an acknowledgment of my experience and contribution. But things didn’t go as expected. Within weeks, I found myself feeling undervalued and unappreciated, and the way I was treated by the contracted project manager left me feeling like a fresh graduate rather than a seasoned professional. After 30 years in corporate, I’d never experienced anything like it. For the first time, I was questioning my worth and feeling my confidence erode. After 8 weeks, my mental health was suffering, and I knew I needed to step away. My husband encouraged me to prioritize my well-being, so I informed the project manager and HR that I didn’t feel set up for success and that I felt ‘it was better for the long term success of the project’ that I step away. Unfortunately, a month later I was made redundant and I believe that choice contributed to this outcome. It felt like everything I’d invested—years of experience, learning, and relationships—was reduced to nothing. It took a huge toll on me. Thankfully what helped me move forward was the personal and professional development work I’d done throughout my career and business. These experiences, along with a single reach-out from an old friend about a potential role, were crucial in helping me rebuild my confidence and reignite my belief in my own abilities. I am incredibly grateful to the people at Bapcor for their belief in me and for investing in my potential. Thank you for reminding me of my value and helping me rediscover my confidence. To anyone who may feel undervalued, know that your worth is not defined by one role or one person’s opinion. Surround yourself with people who see your true potential and hold on to your belief in yourself. 🌟 #CareerJourney #Resilience #MentalHealth #ProfessionalGrowth #CorporateExperience

Here's what to remember as you navigate the exciting (and maybe slightly scary) world of being a fresh graduate: Keep on learning: School may be over, but learning never stops! Embrace new opportunities to develop your skills, whether it's through workshops, online courses, or simply asking questions at work. Be open to change: The perfect job might not appear right away. Be open to exploring different roles and industries to discover what truly excites you. Soft skills are superpowers: Communication, teamwork, and a positive attitude are just as important as technical skills. Refine these soft skills and they'll set you apart. Embrace the hustle: **** Landing your dream job might take some effort. Network, update your resume regularly, and don't be afraid to put yourself out there. Mistakes happen, learn from them: Everyone makes mistakes, it's part of the learning process. Own up to them, learn from the experience, and move forward. Find your work fam: Building relationships with colleagues can make the transition to working life smoother. Network within your company and find your support system. It's okay to ask for help: ♀️ Don't be afraid to ask questions, seek clarification, or request guidance. Your colleagues and managers are there to help you succeed. Be patient and persistent: Success doesn't happen overnight. Stay focused, keep learning, and believe in yourself. Work-life balance is key: ⚖️ While work is important, don't forget to schedule time for rest, hobbies, and spending time with loved ones. Celebrate your wins (big and small): Take a moment to acknowledge your accomplishments, no matter how small. . . . #CareerGoals #JobSearchTips #SalaryTalk #OpenPositions #ApplyNow #freshgraduate #graduate #SkillsGap #FutureOfWork #BusinessProcessImprovement #Efficiency #ConsultusHR #HumanResource

Hey connections👋, A small message from my side💬 Starting my journey 💫👣 in the corporate world as a fresh graduate, I've faced many insecurities. It's been a challenging transition, and I know many others are going through the same. Like *Physical appearance comparisons, *Communication barriers, *Feeling less knowledgeable, *a Lack of Confidence, and *Loneliness ...are just a few of the insecurities I've encountered. I sometimes think these people will never be my friends. But I realize now that everyone experiences these struggles when making the leap from college to the corporate world 100....! The First Six Months in this new environment are crucial learning periods for both personal and professional growth. Don't be discouraged by these feelings. Understand that everyone you see is on a similar path, working hard and gaining experience. It's very important to balance hard work with smart work, and to carve out personal time for your loved ones. After all, true happiness comes from these personal connections, not just from professional achievements. Take care of your health, and always be open to learning new things. There will be times when you feel like giving up, but don't. I know I'm not highly experienced, but I'm learning from my experienced colleagues. I want to share this with others who are in the same stage of life. Be kind to yourself, learn from your mistakes, and keep pushing forward. Your experience will grow, and one day, you'll be the one inspiring others. Remember, we're all in this together, working towards our goals and finding our place. Success happens at different times for everyone. Be patient and wait for your turn. Everyday, Let's thanks to the new experiences..! #EmbraceyourSuccessjourney #inspiring #journeytocorporate #journeyaftergraduation #corporatejourney

5 things I wish I’d known as a graduate when I started working in Australia: 1. People expect two things from grads: be easy to work with and make their lives easier. Grads who establish their reputation as a problem solver climb really fast. So if you’re given work that’s technically ‘not your job’ don’t view it that way. Instead, try and fix the problem or find the right person who can. 2. Over time many people start losing energy and excitement for their work. As a fresh graduate, this is your biggest superpower. Your energy shouldn’t be at par with the experienced people around you, it should be way above and beyond. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t be speaking up in meetings, coming up with ideas, and offering to lead projects. 3. It’s not your company’s job to promote you. Most organisations need some sort of a business case for promotion, and it is for this very reason that you need to ensure your manager and you are aligned on what success looks like and how it will be measured from the very first day. Visibility is just as important as ability when it comes to advancing your career. 4. Promotions depend on more than just your direct manager. You don’t know whose input is taken to make that call. So whether it’s team members, stakeholders, or clients, you need strong working relationships with everyone. If you are in your 20’s and are already working, it might be hard to see why you need to build these connections, but think of it as one of those “things your pop told you about that only make sense when you’re his age.” 5. Meaningful Work = Greater Happiness. For the longest time, I belittled my experience in tech. I mean I was just helping a profitable company make more money… hard to find that work meaningful? I was wrong. Finding purpose and meaning in your work has less to do with the actual tasks you carry out, and more to do with how you perceive your job in terms of the impact you have on other people. When you find your work rewarding, you naturally perform better.

🌟 "I'm not sure it's the right project for me!" 🤔 This is a common sentiment among consultants early in their careers as they navigate the delicate balance between gaining a breadth of skills and establishing themselves as experts in a particular area. 🎓💼 Here's my advice: The perfect project usually isn't available or even exist, but every project offers valuable learning experiences. Your attitude plays a significant role in shaping the project: 🎯 Seek challenges that push your boundaries, fostering growth and enjoyment. 🌄 Embrace diversity in projects to gain unexpected perspectives. 🔄 Use your transferable skills to do something you hadn't even considered doing. Ultimately, experiencing what you don't want to do can be as valuable as discovering what you do enjoy. It's all part of the journey toward finding your professional niche. 🌟 #ConsultingCareer #ProfessionalGrowth #ProjectExperience #CareerAdvice 💡🚀
