This week we were delighted to support Hyde Park Winter Wonderland host its second annual Winter Wishes event, a free and accessible experience for charities, hospitals, and underserved schools to enjoy a magical day out at the UK’s largest festive event. Created for those who might otherwise find it difficult to attend Winter Wonderland due to physical, sensory, or financial requirements, Winter Wishes offers free entry and unlimited access to over 100 rides and attractions in a reduced capacity and lower sensory environment. This year’s event welcomed 6,000 guests from over 150 charities including Make-A-Wish UK, Scope, NSPCC, Shelter, Prince’s Trust, and Sense, nearby hospitals such as Great Ormond Street Hospital and Evelina London Children’s Hospital, youth groups working with vulnerable or disadvantaged populations, and local schools with a significant percentage of students receiving free school meals. Winter Wishes featured enhanced accessibility measures including reduced lighting and sound levels, low-sensory skating on the open-air Ice Rink presented by Moco Museum, audio guides in the Magical Ice Kingdom, and an increased number of accessible facilities. It also included a free performance of Zippos Christmas Circus: Candyland for guests to enjoy.
