Pro Tip Day 15: Live Auction Soliciting Items from Board and Committee Members: Your board and committee members are invaluable resources for securing auction items. Be specific when requesting donations—focus on unique experiences, vacation homes, or special services. Personalize your ask by highlighting how their contributions will directly support the mission and impact of your organization. Take it a step further by asking them what items they’d like to see in the live auction. This way, you increase the chances of them bidding, which could either lead to higher bids from others or a win for the organization when they bid. What’s your strategy for soliciting auction items from your board? Share your tips! #BoardEngagement #AuctionItems #FundraisingStrategy #NonProfitSupport #YourRocktioneer

Diverse, equitable, anti-racist, inclusive, and accessible theatre does not begin and end with the work onstage. Sammy Lopez and The Industry Standard Group are doing the important work of amplifying BIPOC investors and producers. Please consider contributing to their mission if you are able! There need to be seats at *every* table for folks of all backgrounds. Presenting works featuring varied experiences is not nearly enough. Inclusivity at every level and step of the theatre-making process must be realized, from conception to production. And, may I add, this includes audiences as well! Without intentionally creating a welcoming space for all, by acknowledging and actively dismantling a host of factors that thwart the crucial sense of belonging all audience members should feel, the work onstage can only go so far.
Let’s keep building together. Your support drives our work and expands our impact! The Industry Standard Group is thankful for our co-founders, staff, and YOU! Thank you for helping us diversify the theater industry. Help us grow by making a tax-deductible donation today: https://lnkd.in/ebDFPbV6 #TISG #Support #SocialImpact #InnovationInAction

Once your vehicle is sold, the selling price becomes the amount of your donation. If your vehicle sells for more than $500, you may deduct the full selling price. If your vehicle sells for $500 or less, you can deduct the "fair market value" of your vehicle, up to $500. I love this post's sentiment, acknowledgement, and concept, but not the word 'unbearable', and it is not just because of my REBT psychotherapy training. Words matter. I learnt that long ago, and I use words significantly in all aspects of my life: work, rest, and play. As a grief therapist and educator, I speak to the bereaved more days than not. These people are bearing their grief because that is what we do; no matter how difficult, we bear it. If something were unbearable, then we could not endure it and go on. There are so many inspiring people who I could link to this article. They have borne the most unfathomable losses, and now they continue meaning-making, understanding, and growing daily around their loss. Some have created charities; you can see/feel/hear the moments when grief visits when speaking. They bear it. They bear their loss daily. I am in awe of them, learn from them, and work with them. This matters, words matter. Albert Ellis, the founder of rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy, which I am a student of, would say that if we cannot bear something, we will no longer be able to exist. When we change the irrational thought that something is unbearable, we can reinforce the premise that it is bearable and start growing around our grief. If we communicate our intentions by using words that cause psychological disturbance, consciously or unconsciously, they become words that we can easily access and start giving them power. Snap me in half, and like a stick of rock, you would see the words Cruse Bereavement Support written through me, which is why I care so much about the words. Marcus Aurelius Don't try to picture everything bad that could possibly happen. Stick with the situation at hand, and ask, “Why is this so unbearable? Why can't I endure it?” You'll be embarrassed to answer. Then remind yourself that past and future have no power over you. The Stoic philosophers teach us much about grief, especially Marcus Aurelius, the most powerful man on earth at the time. And Epictetus, the slave philosopher. Failing that, pop culture will suffice. Nick Mulvey - A prayer of my own. Best lyric, "We bear the unbearable" https://lnkd.in/ephUUrPG
Wow! Skydives, coffee mornings, family fun days, hikes up mountains, tractor runs, art sales and choir concerts. These are just some of the ways our supporters have raised money for our special charity this year. Feeling inspired?
